i am a psychotherapist with several advances degrees. Its good to see a young black woman working and doing her thing. I plan to start my own practice eventually as well. I am currently working inpatient at a psychiatric hospital.

I am Black Male living in Alaska looking to become a therapist and joining the clinical mental health counseling program in Alaska! Wonderful video, your energy is delightful! Being in private practise myself I find it so important to set up a structure and guidelines for practise like the number of sessions to schedule per day, what time to start and keeping a day for admin. Otherwise it becomes easy to get lost in the flexibility. Thank you for sharing your day

this was so delightful to watch and further inspired me to keep working hard to achieve my goal of becoming a therapist like u one day! i'm only a freshman in college so i still have a loooooooong road ahead of me but im excited and eager to take on the journey and give everything my best shot :) i have a few questions for you. - how did you go about opening a private practice? that is my goal as it will give me the most flexibility and freedom, and (correct me if i'm wrong) highest salary! ppl have been discouraging me, telling me that opening a private practice is very difficult and that if i don't open a private practice, ill have to work under some company and they'll take a large chunk from my earnings so i won't be making a good living. ppl have also told me that it's very difficult to find and maintain clients. - i'm also considering becoming a psychologist, but im confused about what exactly a psychologist does on a day to day basis, as i feel that its a broad term. do they conduct research? can psychologists also conduct therapy if they want? - i've heard that some therapists have multiple jobs at once, like having a private practice but also working as a school counselor, for example. how common is this and is it manageable? - what are some tips u have for a future therapist, like things u wish u knew before becoming a therapist? thank u so much, u've earned a new subscriber:) i love ur calm, positive energy, its so uplifting! keep up the great work
