I believe on the wide body, the 2 washer screws are in a slightly different spot. They are out of sight, tucked up in right above each shock.
@CorporalMathewKane
@CorporalMathewKane Год назад
@@shperax you’re right, in behind each side panel at the nose above each shock location, just took them out of my mach today while getting to the headlamp fairing. There’s more than just those 2 that had washers so hopefully I can figure out where they went when putting it back together lol.

Hey Bret, this video gives me hope! I just bought a new to me 2021 Exp SE 900 ACE Turbo and am looking for tips on doing just the basic maintenance. I've seen and read so many very complicated videos. I just want to ask, will my sled be the same process as you show here? Thanks.
@RideRasmussenStyle

Yes...should be the very same. Could be some small differences. But all G4 hood removal should be basically the same.

Is there still foam under the hood you should remove on the 2021 expert turbo? When I got my last new sled the 2017 Summit you had a video out showing how to remove it all. I will soon get my new 2021 Turbo expert and would like to know if there still is something you can remove? Also a big thank you for all the great work you put out there for us.
@RideRasmussenStyle

I remove all the acoustical foam to allow for better air circulation and prevent water from being soaked up adding weight. It's important to use foil on the underside of the hood where it is closest to the pipe to prevent melting of the plastic parts. Happy sledding.

I have a 2020 backcountry xrs. The hood came off fine and went back on fine but I cant seem to get the hose rubber connector back over the airbox. It wont slide over the top.
@RideRasmussenStyle
@RideRasmussenStyle 4 года назад
The only thing that should be restricting it would be the hose clamp. Are you sure it's been loosened enough?

very helpful video! Just wondering if you have taken the top half of the air box off on one of these gen 4s? I cracked the top of mine and need to replace it. I have the part ordered but I cant seem to get the top half off. Ive searched and removed all the bolts (from what I can see) and when i push any of the 3 tabs that hold the top to the bottom half, it still seems super solid! hope you might have some advice, my sled is a 2020 and i don't even have it a week and this happened.
@RideRasmussenStyle
@RideRasmussenStyle 4 года назад
There are some fasteners you have over looked. The entire hood has to be disassembled. Keep looking until you find more screws
@JasonMaher6
@JasonMaher6 4 года назад
@@RideRasmussenStyle I took another crack at it last night and managed to find some more hidden screws. had to strip it down basically to just the air box. got it all back together now and ready to ride. thanks!

Fs i cant even get my hood back on… the rear clips by the gas tank wont quite reach. Like half inch away… its the air box boot. Seems like it wont sear properly,,,, when i took it off. The boot was still on the hood,,, not on the air box itself
@RideRasmussenStyle
@RideRasmussenStyle 2 года назад
SO... It sounds like you need to move the rubber boot from the hood to the air box where it should go. Make sure the hose clamp is properly loosened. I like to leave the clamp loose enough that I can slide the hood on and off at will without the need to ever loosen or tighten the clamp. I've never tried it, but I suppose it would be fine to permanently remove the hose clamp. Good luck.

If you can design a better product why don’t you apply to BRP? Six bolts is a hell of a lot less than the 26 it takes to take my KTM adventures gas tank off.

THIS IS NOT WHAT I HAD IN MIND WHEN I SPENT 20K. NOW DO THIS ON A FROZEN LAKE AT NIGHT IN -30 BECAUSE A SPARK PLUG NEEDS CHANGING. I WANTED SIMPLICITY AND GOT ANOTHER COMPLICATED TOY, MAY AS WELL RUN MY YAMAHA. NOT PLEASED SO FAR. MY SKANDIC IS BRAND NEW BUT IT WILL GET OLD.
@RideRasmussenStyle

Guess what! It gets worse... Taking the hood off won't give you access to change spark plugs. You need more room than that! Sounds like your a Yammy guy 😉
