Haishi hurts my heart, that expression on her face. That gaze between Emperor and Jianming plus that jade thumb ring indicating between the two men that Haishi meeds to be protected. The acting is phenomenal. I am so enthralled my William Chen, Yang Mi and Xu Kaicheng. These actors are Chinese National Treasures. Just perfect acting, I am crying. This is just so emotional.
Jianming letting the Emperor know that Haishi is the woman he loves by exposing her as a woman wearing his father's thumb ring. That flashback of them as boys and their eyes locking in a gaze saying, I will protect Haishi for you. I am so sad.
Right. I am really glad that the king honors his friendship with Jianming so much. I love their friendship. I would have had very little respect for the king if he saw Haishi and was like, "I'm going to take her away from my best friend."

El capitulo es maravilloso. La complicidad entendida entre los hombres por proteger a una mujer que es "la mujer" donde el duque pide en silencio y expone a qyien el sabe , puede entender. like you couldn’t tell she was a woman before. this is such a repeated and overdone thing in chinese and korean dramas where they don’t realize the person is a female until their hair comes fully done.
Yeah, I always get a laugh out of these parts. There is a Korean drama out now, The King’s Affection, where it is somewhat believable because so many Koreans are gorgeous. And they don’t overdo the makeup. I love Yang Mi, but those lashes were too feminine in my opinion

I have noticed a trend in Chinese (usually Costume) dramas recently of having to have "two boys and two girls" or more. It is as if it is almost a crime now to have just 2 guys and 1 woman in most new dramas. They will have two or three "couples who often/sometimes take a large chuck of the episodes and story/drama away from the main leads. Advertisers or companies/actors will even pay to be promoted more than the main couple and to even put down the main characters, especially the main actress. This happened in The Long Ballad and other Cdramas. I understand that sometimes Love Triangles are very painful, but at other times, they make things exciting or fun, two guys liking one girl can make her seem more appealing or to imagine what it would be like, (Haha😅) if she isn't annoying, toying with them, and acting like a child, or acting stupid, with a ridiculously high voice.
You’re right, nowadays it is frown upon to do a Marysue love triangle drama. I remembered drama used to be good when the storyline is focus on the main couple but also throws in the love rival. Too bad this drama is good, but they change they storyline toooo much and focus too much on side couple.
@@nicolcacola I don't think you really understood what I wrote or the whole point of it was. I was including Novoland Pearl Eclipse and the trend in many newer Chinese Dramas in GENERAL. But to answer your comment; this drama was SUPPOSED to be a love-triangle. The synopsis said that Haishi would start to develop feelings for the Emperor. In the original novel (from what I've heard) Haishi even gets pregnant (in a bad way, she was the one r@ped, not Tilan😬🤢) & gives birth to the Emperor's child; even though she still loves/hates Shifu. Also, the Emperor never loved Tilan and tortured her for 15 years, until she ran away with the General. She actually was NOT in the novel much.
I want to see more of Haishi and the Emperor together (even though I usually don't like him or the way he treats people)! Stupid drama people not wanting a love Triangle!😫😤😒
