i like the project videos you're good at showing things that people may not really consider when they think about what is needed to fix up a cheap boat. i know you have definitely made me think about things i hadn't really given much thought to
Well done. Granted, I know nothing about welding, nor have I ever welded, but I did watch a video a few years ago that fascinated me. Basically, when you are dealing with thin metal that may warp, you are supposed to space out your welds. In your case, you would do one small spot weld and then move to the farthest most part of the project and weld there. And then you repeat and repeat. The guy I watched said it basically keeps the metal cool(er)... Either way, I was watching with great interest. As for your videos, I admit to loving DIY stuff. I'll watch those 9 times out of 10.
I learned to stick weld in the Ironworkers Union Local 433 as an apprentice but I never became a journeyman. I am a welder by trade now with my own small company but I rarely weld stainless. I’ve been learning TIG welding because that is much more suited for SS. 🤙🏼
Miller Multimatic 215 welder, 316L .030 MIG welding wire, 2” x 1/4” 316 Stainless Steel flat stock and a tri-mix of shielding gas (Helium, CO2 & Argon). 👍🏼
