Nice work jim don't forget when your doing your insulation resistance tests on lights to change the position of any 2 way switches that might be around so you are testing your strappers and at the bottom of any stairs watch out for switches that contain both the upstairs and downstairs lighting circuits which should be noted on your eicr

Are you registered with a governing body now? If so who you with? Also if you're not can you walk us through how you inform building control for your Consumer unit changes etc

Do you know how you missed the three circuits on the quote? Did you quote or estimate? State next time prices are on the amount of circuits but I suggest you take a hit this time but re think written statements on your quote/estimate sheet in the future👍

I've subscribed, that fluke meter has a null facility for the leads, I do a lot of eicr and I have a set price for an avarage board and to be honest I get so engrossed in the job I reckon the customer gets more than their money's worth. Good luck with your business and keep in touch with other sparks I always like to talk with lads in the trade , there are some great sparks out there and it's good to learn from them .

Do you just do a global IR or each circuit

You charge them more for more circuits but give them the heads up when quoting of the possibility of doubled up circuits to cover yourself - that’s what I do.

Charge for the circuits that were tested, explain to the customer the reason for the difference in the estimate. Advise that with the board change there will be more RCBO's required. Good to see your keeping busy after the move back.

Why take the lead value off your reading. The fluke has a zero function. Much easier

Those links you were on about are not very good, Gaz from GSH did a video about them, the magnet is not as strong as it needs to be and there fore the readings fluctuate all over the place, you could end up getting a bad reading and you go down that rabbit hole chasing a red herring when all the while it was just the lead giving a false reading. IMO You'll be better off sticking with the clips you got, solid connection pain in the arse disconnecting every time to test but it gets the best results.

Don’t bother with the R1-R2 link their crap and unreliable at times, better getting the Kewtech croc clips. Great video tho fella
