We are sailing in Croatia and living fulltime on our sailboat during 2021. In our first year as liveaboards, we embark on a passage to explore Croatia from the very south to the northern Adriatic. We share some beautiful anchorages, marinas, unspoiled islands, great sites, and expenses along the way.
We recently quit our high-tech jobs in California, bought a sailboat, and moved to the Mediterranean. We are just starting our adventure of sailing around the world and experiencing life on a sailboat. In this sailing vlog 2021, we will share our experiences as a sailing couple on RU-vid who spends our first year sailing extensively throughout the Croatian coast. We will document our experiences, travel discoveries, and costs throughout our sailing journey. Croatia offers some of the best sailings in the Mediterranean and Europe. We hope you will find the sailing passage in this video helpful.

How lovely to see a healthy seabed! They are right to charge for entry to an ecologically unspoilt area.

Couple things working for Lastovo. First it is out of the beaten path. Meaning, most charter boats are not likely to include Lastovo in their itinerary as it is far from charter bases. Second, it cost money to enter. Unfortunately, the seabed is not as healthy throughout Croatia.

I am pretty sure that in CHR it is forbidden to tie your boat to land vegetation. I don't really care just FYI I would check the rules, fines are not rare around there :)

Are you living aboard in Croatia through the winter? Or putting the boat on the hard? Or going elsewhere in the winter with the boat? We’re 18 months and counting! The winters seem tricky to navigate safely and warmly.

No we are not. We leave her at the marina and likely to resume cruising late March or early April. You are right about winters in Adriatic. Not only the boras can be ferocios, the off season can be quite cold.
