If you're going to quote a historical document then do so with integrity. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed BY THEIR CREATOR with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I just don't get Disney sometimes. Terrified to mention God to the point of omission from one of the nations most important historical documents, while simultaneously blasting "Glory, glory hallelujah" from the Battle Hymn of the Republic, whose lyrics are drenched with Christian imagery and invocation. The cognitive dissonance is mind-boggling.
The new controversial narration was added two years ago but they kept the old music renditions (including the FDR JFK and MLK Jr quotes) that had been used since 2006 (two years before Celebrate America premiered at MK). I honestly think Epcot should get a whole new show for 2026 honoring the 250th (since the “Heartbeat of Freedom” initially honored the 230th) but somehow I doubt anything will change.
