Michael Landon was soooo cool. I think it's funny that in almost every opening shot he has his knee up. I went to EPCOT about a month after if first opened I was only four but I still remember it. I love EPCOT. I also saw the first space shuttle launched on that trip.
Great and truly weird video. I remember seeing an ad for EPCOT in 1981 in a Magazine and was there the first week... by myself! It was 12$ to get in. I loved the place which has now become so dated. The video made me laugh though. I kept wondering what Michael Landon was doing with the Village People. That was hilarious. The opening credits including Marie Osmond and Andy Warhol (wow) looked like it came straight out of Scrooged! Really funny how some things date quickly. The early eighties had a 1977 hangover.

Excellent video of the magnificent and wonderful EPCOT CENTER, I've been there several times since 1993 and always has something to show, great place .. I'd love to see this entire video. The music when they show the names reminds me of the Academy award shows of yesteryear. I almost thought I was watching an old Academy Awards show.
you'd be surprised about how much Disney himself revealed about his parks on his show. He'd walk through what was happening with viewers and even revealed what was going to happen with Disneyworld as it was being built.
@TimmyME It's a variation on Walt's dream. The Walt Disney company felt that without Walt's guidance they could not succesfully build EPCOT the city. They still wanted to build EPCOT in some form, however. And so they did it with a media that they were more familiar with: The theme park. Epcot today is obviously very different from EPCOT Center. Unfortunately, the park just never took off like the company hoped. People don't want to learn it seems, they just want to be mindless.
Wow so much going on here...I am suprised Disney put this behind the scenes show out to the public like this,,,showing Epcot being built by regular people. Disney always wanted to create the illusion that it was all a real fairytale place, not a man made tourism park. I also would like to know what the two subliminal messages with Mickey Mouse are all about at the beginning...did anyone slow this down to hear/see what it says?
