-To clarify; the old entrance loop hasn't actually stopped playing at the park. The old loop (with all of the original pavilion/ride music in a compilation) is still being played, but only outside of the park's front gates (monorail station, tickets, etc.). This new loop plays past the turnstiles, in the courtyard. While I'd also prefer the original loop to be played in the main courtyard, it's clear that Disney is going for a much more "grand" or "epic" style for Epcot, which is likely why this new loop was incorporated. It may be a few years until it actually starts to fit, since most of the planned updates to Epcot are still pretty far down the timeline as of now- Edit 3/7/2023: nvm, it's gone for real ;-;
I find that so cool though. I don't know about anyone else but specifically for me, I want to be in Disney Imagineering one day so hearing this walking into the park was such a wow thing for me especially when it got dark. It just felt so awesome.
They've also started playing this over by Test Track and Mission Space. The old Innoventions soundtrack still plays over by the land, imagination, and seas.
This is a good, but odd assortment. I wish they interspersed some original theme into the loop at least like they did with Legacy in one of the prior loops.
@@CrazyManhog that’s not legacy if that’s what your referring to, and no, that’s not a recurring motif in the music. While it sounds similar it’s not the same.
Great work on getting this up, but I don't approve at all. This is NOT Epcot. If 'Epcot Forever' was the last "hug and love" to the Epcot I knew as a kid and fell in love with and this is the course that the entire park will take, Chapek is slowly destroying ALL of Disney any time he can touch any part of it. It's very sad.
No more high energy playful music, IPs starting to take over... they're turning the parks into a low-budget Universal Studios. Now with Chapek diminishing funding to the parks I think Universal may actually start to push them out of the theme park industry 😬
We all loved the old music, let's be honest. A change was coming for sure and this music is similar which is cool. I think nostalgia plays a major role in music emotion and this new loop nearly hits the spot!
This entrance loop is actually fantastic. Sorry if it doesn’t carry nostalgia for you but we go through this “why do they ruin EVERYTHING” song and dance every time they change or update something at Disney, even the smallest thing. that’s not Disney going down the tubes, it’s just how the world works. I understand the emotional charge behind Disney nostalgia, I really do. But also, 100 out of 100 people whining about it are grown adults. It just looks silly on them.
I first entered EPCOT in early 1983. The "Original" music was inspiring. I feel the same about this. I consider this a positive upgrade (of course a major display element in Communicore East back then was a massive dragline bucket used to strip-mine coal; so time marches on. Chill😊.
I thought the same thing at first, Tim. Figured this had nothing much to do with Epcot. Then I started thinking about the old loop and realized that, in 2021, the old loops don't have anything to do with Epcot these days, either. At this point, any music will do, I guess.
How do you know it doesn't represent what's in the park when half the park isn't even rebuilt yet? Is the Innoventions loop bad? Would you call that generic music? Because it was done by a composer and an orchestra and doesn't represent anything specific in the park?
@@MantosXC What I think @Tim 16 is talking about is that this recycled music that was written for other movies or documentaries really does not have anything to do with EPCOT. EPCOT for the last 2 entrance versions had a score specially written and they placed in the themes from many of the rides. So many people are just a bit disappointed that this music is just recycled music written for other uses. You mentioned that EPCOT is not done yet. True, but we already know what is going in the new revised EPCOT and there is no announcement on Disney changing any of the old ride themes. So in a sense they could have made a brand new score with the ride themes that are not changing and added the new themes. This is just music, that again has nothing to do with the park, as when I heard some of the tracks I was like oh thats from a non Disney documentary or movie why are they using this for EPCOT.? I was confused when I first heard it. So I think that is what he meant by it has nothing to do with the park. In all reality he is right.
It’s interesting that they have moved away from Disney composers such as Bob Moline and the Sherman Brothers and are now using movie soundtrack composers. I’m on the fence about the music itself, but the music no longer is tied to the attractions or futuristic/hopeful in its sound. Must be a sign of things to come.
It's pretty good music, very uplifting. 😎 But just sounds like it's a constant movie trailer or some promotional thing for their vacation planning videos. 😂 "Welcome to a Place, where dreams come true..."
I'd really grown to love this loop and was so sad to not hear it beginning last week! I love the "new" Epcot theme, but so far, the new loop feels very repetitive. :(
Fantastic! I am a softy at heart and thought I'd be gutted by the old music being replaced, but this is fresh, new, and invigorating. Walt never wanted things to stay static. Congrats to the minds behind this mix.
They couldn't possibly have found a way to modernize the existing soundtrack instead of just tossing it. It's easier and cheaper to just find new music because who cares about history right? Instead of this nice flowing unique music now its just some action movie audio like every other theme park in this country.
While we all know change is inevitable, there are always those who are resistant. I think the proper balance is when the steps ahead can mirror or mimic the similarities of the steps that got you to the point you stand before taking the new steps. I agree that this music while offering a hopeful feeling, could have done with an interspersing of some of the "classic" nostalgia that had been with the park since inception. But overall, I'd give this a thumbs up. Thanks for sharing
As a long time fan of EPCOT and former Future World North Cast Member, I welcome this change. Now, when standing in the entrance, the music is emotional and epic sounding. It ushers you into a world that you want to explore. I loved the former loop of previewing the park, but this one is stellar and modernized and gives the space it’s own unique feel. Reading the comments here, it’s obvious people haven’t been there to experience it yet. I bet thoughts will change when in-person at the park. Change happens and I embrace it. I could sit around in the entrance for hours just people watching and hearing this play. Thank you for putting this together. It’s fantastic and spot on.
I am a fan of EPCOT, from EPCOT Center until 2017, my last visit. The former entrance loop music has always been a big part of my visit there, but I feel this new music stirs the same overwhelming emotion that I had when entering my favorite park from my previous 11 visits, seeing Spaceship Earth in front of me. WDW would be lacking without the great music that plays throughout the theme parks.
This is so beautiful..while I do miss the old loop (I used to work at Epcot Entrance quite a bit and know the old one like the back of my hand haha), this new one is so representative of the amazing changes that Epcot is going through and the beauty that is to come for the park! I can't wait to go back home and see the changes for myself.
The new lighting around the plaza and the pavilion flags are great though, its just the music isn't about the old/current pavilions and is not as upbeat/hopeful thus casting doubt on the new atmospheric feel of EPCOT
@@AzKarma2010 DCA is light years better than where it started. Epcot was a true innovation in theme parks when it debuted in 1982 and had some of the most memorable attractions of all Disney parks. The same cannot be said for DCA
An interesting combination of songs...but I'm honestly surprised that the newer Epcot theme song isn't in this loop at all. I will admit, I am going to miss hearing the old loop. There's something to hearing songs as you enter the park that you can also find throughout the the park. With that said, the songs themselves...are actually not that far off from what the emotional pull of Epcot is. Epcot is about hope and what the future can bring and all of these songs certainly can showcase that. Yes, change can be scary since not every change is a good one...but change is both inevitable and necessary for anything to grow and evolve and this change in soundtrack is definitely an okay change. In the end, even if it's missing the nostalgia of the old park, I'm fine with this new song loop. I'm excited to see what the rest of the updated Epcot will bring.
Thank you for this! Definitely feels more live a movie score than an EPCOT Entrance BGM. I loved the previous so much, it will take some time for this one....
It's looks like magen robut girl doll girl made movie with same thing as being back in time travel into most places in Disney world and Disneyland Disney company class starts at Disney plus movie download app magic key and the other side effects from magen movie
I love this music so much, I listen to it constantly and a lot of it is my comfort music. It's gorgeous on its own but as a Disney/Epcot fan, it makes me happy and I can pretend I am at the park as well. Thank you so much for having this music for all to enjoy!
It's nice, but generic and without much character. No memorable melodies. I don't even really understand what kind of feelings it's trying to inspire. There's a lot of tension in there, which is curious. Very sad.
They should just let Steven Price do the whole thing. He is so, so good and his music is very ethereal which is fitting when as you approach Spaceship Earth. Apart from winning the Oscar in 2013 (for Gravity), he's so under celebrated.
Thank you for making this! I love listening to the old loop but I’m also excited to listen to something new that will be a reminder of my trip coming in October this year 😍
I haven't been to the parks since Aug 2019 so my feelings are conflicted on this new theme. I will wait to form my full opinion until I am in EPCOT this summer. It sounds cool but just isn't jiving with my memories of EPCOT. But a bunch has changed since then, so maybe it matches the changes. Thanks for the quick upload of just the loop. ☺️
I like the epicness of it. Imagining walking into Epcot with the awesome new fountain flowing at night with Spaceship Earth glowing and hearing this epic, upbeat, orchestral music is awesome! I'm excited to go experience it.
I hold the older Epcot music and nostalgia close to my heart. Many happy memories. That said, I really like this new soundtrack. I think it still has a hopeful and upbeat sound. Edited to add: After listening to this for several weeks, I'm hooked. Love this soundtrack.
Is it Epcot? Or is it SeaWorld? Too epic for my taste. The original Future World loop was so much more chill. This is forcibly uplifting like...YOU ARE EXPERIENCING SOMETHING AWESOME RIGHT NOW!!
It’s source recordings of the individual songs from the loop, edited together in the same order as the new loop plays them. The new loop uses pre-existing songs.
having “The Magic Kingdom” from saving mr. banks honestly fits so well. It’s sad not really having any attraction music anymore, but i’m trying to be hopeful for the future of Epcot.
@@blkhwk611 No i know it's referring to Disneyland. I just don't understand why this song would be included for Epcot. Like I love the piece, and I love Saving Mr. Banks a ton, but the song doesn't exactly fit at Epcot.
Ahh, I see your point. Yeah the tracks used sometimes don't seem like a great fit. I figure a list is probably put together, and likely not everything selected makes the cut, or alternates are chosen, with final selection based off someone else's later determination. For the Beijing Olympics some network (NBC I think) was using a theme from Van Helsing at the start of the games, cracked me up. Am sure a lot of people can name similar oddly chosen tracks. Eh, just try to ignore it. But would be cool to find out who put the music together.
Another fab upload! I assume the reason your video is a different runtime than others here on RU-vid is because you did the proper trimming of the tracks and they didn't? Thanks again!
Thanks for getting this up so fast. I need to digest it a little before my trip next month. It's just not going to feel the same walking into the park.
I actually really like this loop. Look, naysayers, I know that the other one was really nostalgic, and I loved it with all my heart, but with the direction Epcot’s headed, I could totally see this as a classic 5-6 years from now.
I don't like this at all for Epcot! It is too orchestral for this park, meaning that it lacks synthesized, electronic and retro sounds. This would be better suited for MK or Hollywood Studios, or even the entrance of the Disney section at Target...but definitely not Epcot. It is not a unique compilation, as it sounds like a mashup of Apollo 13 and Jurassic Park. Sweeping orchestral music with traditional instruments does not capture the feeling or spirit of Epcot. This sound makes you think "classic" and "established". That's not Epcot. Epcot is groundbreaking and innovative. What are they thinking??? Did they buy a licensing subscription to downloadable, pre-recorded songs on pay-music service and decide all sounds have to come from this music library?
Strangely, some of this music may be entirely electronic - as many composers do their work with samples at a keyboard instead of standing on a podium with a live orchestra. But you are right; the original EPCOT Center music was special, and one of the main reasons was the fusion of synth sounds and traditional orchestral instruments. It was different than almost anything heard at the time and it represented innovation, something the park sorely lacks today.
No offense, but why couldn't they have incorporatated pre-existing scores from films and tv shows they owned? There are some pretty memorable cues out there from films already represented in Epcot (such as Finding Nemo) but not featured in this loop. Likewise, the Ducktales suite by Ron Jones screams past, present and future Epcot I understand the reasoning with some of the tracks representing the different worlds (the new lands) to come, but isn't using ones imagination (one little spark) a cause for celebration? Isn't time we got back to hearing nature's requests (listen to the land)? Can't we travel and discover new things (fun to be free)? I might add that the original entrance loop version of Energy (You Make The World Go Around) aka the Epcot Entrance Medley incorporatated some call backs to One Little Spark, Listen to the Land and Fun To Be Free, plus some non disney film cues in it. The rest of original entrance loop would then eventually introduce these familiar themes acting as a prelude to a movie. Legacy, to it's credit as the theme most kids who heard in Epcot in the 2000s did a similar vein while mixed other themes. Ellen's Energy March, the Imagination Institute Theme, the Living Seas Theme and the Space theme from Horizons, with selections from Reflections of Earth and Soaring Over California's theme added later on. I am disapointed I don't hear a familiar instrumental arrangement from say, Moana (How Far It Goes) or Frozen II (Into The Unknown), both of which would fit into these new worlds.
