Nice and wholesome! Try some different build types too, like the honey-comb core, lighter woods, a skimboard with a stringer etc. Don't worry about keeping it under $100. I'd love to see how they all ride.
Guys! 😂 This was hilarious. Such a fun time helping film and build! Great job on the edit Conner as always! 🤌🏼 - I think it counts as a mild Big Spin- what do you think?
Solaglocal brought me here! SO EPIC!! If anyone reading is able to make it over to the South Bay Boards factory in Huntington beach SHOULD DO IT! They sell blem skimboards for epic prices! Also sell blem surfboards too for great deals. Friendly people too, highly recommended if your trying to save bucks on a wicked skimboard! I bought 5 skims and a softtop last time I went there haha.
With a wooden skim, you don't need much rocker. What i do is cut out the board and prop it up on a 2x4 outside in the sun, boil some water, then poor it on the board on both sides and weight the board in the middle with a cender block. Let it stay like that for a few hours. Then let that dry out. Then you can use food coloring and alcohol to stain the board, let that dry, then use polyurethane or fiberglass resin which is actually polyester resin. And if you want to keep that rocker and make the board strong, use fiberglass clothe.
in the philippines most of the skimboarders couldn’t afford foamy so they use woody skimboards like this one but still rides the wave like it’s not heavy af. tbh there are a lot of good skimboarders in the philippines imagine what they can do with a foamy skimboards
Yes I agree. I remember visiting for 4 months in 2010, I left the boys in Dahican with one of my skimboards. Incredibly talented riders in the Philippines 🇵🇭.
When I saw this I thought that's a good video idea, can I copy your video idea, I'll tell you when it's out on my channel. if not all good, also your my favorite youtuber.
@@AustinKeen haha I don't think it's gonna be better because I might try and make a free skimboard somehow, I've made 3 of them but never for free. I'll see how it goes.
