I love the Greek Island videos. They inspire me to get out there and see more of them. This is one I've never even heard of, so it's that much more fascinating! Thanks Gabriel!
a psych eval would be strongly encouraged otherwise > traveling around while having the Freedom to work wherever there's decent connectivity... that's how to take what TptsNb are giving us ...the limited choices We have these darkening murky employment days. Nomadic life sure looks appealing that's for sure & Gabriel does a fantastic job of portraying such a life.
Hi Gabriel, another beautiful day in paradise, the smaller islands have more charm, they are more intimate and relaxing, not overcrowded, and by the end of this trip, you will be visiting at least fifty islands.
@@davedeal9152 Yes, my short story "Maxwell's Cave" in my book "The Most Hilarious Thing That Ever Happened" is actually based on Plato's allegory of the cave.
@@muskrat477 know of the danger your limits and you'll be fine, don't overdo it in the sun in summer months. Thats all, especially if you're not used to this climate
Hey Gabriel, Im not a native English speaker and i admire you for the fact that your speech is very clear and easy to understand unlike other American RU-vidrs
Agreed, however it is hilarious to put on captions & see how the ai translates some of the more exotic (foreign to English) words > it's become a quiet lil favorite added bonus as the vids play 😉 Putting on captions is a good measure of just how clearly the spoken word is coming through > Gabriel indeed does a great job of annunciating as demonstrated by the captions.
The circular thing that you saw was a threshing floor. They can be found in all the Cyclades islands. Many islanders had animals and land. For example, the old house that my parents bought in Sifnos, above the main village, Appolonia, had one, as well as rooms to make cheese etc.
Aha! You beat me to it!🤣 Gabriel, you should come to the South Peleponnese and visit Ancient Messini! It's the best archaeological site ever. Well, we think so!😁
@annoworldbridger You have a pretty loud bark there pal. Although I must admit, your statement is hilarious 🤣 Gabe does his own thing and yeah it's pretty rudimentary but that's what we like about his videos. Why the negativity?
Gabriel γειά σου ! I admire your courage , exploring every cave every beach every mountain , beach , every hil , stone , etc... Usually, tourists have fun on swimming , clubbing , drinking , eating all day ! I suppose, you are satisfied with this kind of real life in Greek islands !!!
Hello Gabriel! Ano in Greek means upper and kato means lower,so whenever you see places having Ano as the first name (for example Ano Koufonisi) means there's another one Kato (lower). The name Panayia means Virgin Mary. Your videos are outstanding-Arista!! Regards from Athens!
Nice Explanation Effie! 💯👍🏻 Maybe I would note that: Panagia, comes from: Pan: All [Encompassing] Agia: Holy [Saint] So Panagia is: The All-Holy [Virgin Mary] For Pan, Gabriel should just think of the Root Pan in Pandemic (Pan + Demos, effects ALL the People), or Panorama (Pan + Orama, All Views) or think of Organizations with that Prefix, like the Pan-American Games or Greek events that are Panhellenic. Agia, I think Gabriel knows since he knows Agios & Agia from Saints & that it means Holy. And you are correct about the Ano & Kato for islands, it also can pertain to cities, towns, or villages in Greece from Antiquity throughout the Medieval Greek Byzantine world where there are Ano & Kato Horio (Village), Poli (City), Kastro (Castle)…etc! 👍🏻
Thanks gabe for another great video, I worry about you tripping with the sandals on especially when you’re on those narrow trails with a drop on the one side 👍🙏
@@malpaso4me I think you're right. Although all those hikes seem to be in a fairly easy terrain with marked paths, he should have better equipement (a proper flashlight, proper hiking shoes, more water and minerals, super food and fruits, some common hiking tools etc), especially if he's all alone and on islands with a low population
This is my favorite of Cyclades islands Gabe, KOUFONISSIA and the whole complex - I wish i could spend each summer there !! so Greece inspires to...shave and to do a good laundry!! 😅cool !! enjoy !! 👌✌👍✨✨
Good afternoon Gabriel 🌞 !! Heraklia took its name from the well-known , the well-famous mythic hero Hercules !! Heraklia is , also , well known from Homer's Odyssey , the written work of one of Hellas's Ancient Greatest poets, Homer !! In Odyssey, Heraklia is referred to, as the place where Odysseus met the giant Polyphemus !! Great video once again 🌊🦞🏝
If you do the boat trip around the island you can go to see a WW2 german airplane sunk, it'an easy dive, enjoy Iraklia! Try Akathi restaurant amazing Cheese cake, it's very good!
That's actually the first time I've gone in the sea wearing everything like that, figured it would be fun for the video. But sometimes I wash stuff in the sea. More often I do laundry in my room.
Mr. Gabriel is after the Shave in the beginning Thirties of Age........A GOOD DECISION MAN......and you look much better now....and the Complete Washing with the Close is very BIOLOGICAL....HAHAHAHAH!!!!!
Gabriel, watching you point out the island silhouettes in the distance makes me believe you are the incarnation of Odysseus himself!!! Great Video once again Brotha! 👍🏻
Gabe, my wife and I love your videos! We couldn't help wondering, with you hiking in sandals, if you've walked into any snakes. We've seen your bouts with Greek spiders, but what about snakes? Love your way of doing laundry! Haha!
Wow! Incredibly beautiful place. And you are there at the perfect time of the year. You are indeed THE best travel RU-vidr. You take us to places we didn’t even know existed. Thanks Gabriel. Looking good! You look 20 again 😊
33:29 Something like this also exists on the Croatian islands and the entire coast, an area where grain is threshed, sheaves of grain laid out on the bottom are trampled by horses or donkeys spinning in a circle.
I like your videos and the way you spend your time: exploring the place, looking for castles, caves, interesting sights. I admire your curiosity and boldness.
The Greeks during the 400 years under Ottoman occupation had to find hidden places to worship their religion which is Orthodox Christians. That's why there's caves used as churches.
I've been enjoying these amazing ....travel videos. There's beauty. .and much light on these amazing magical islands . Greece is blessed with all the beauty . Your ....Lucky to be walking the path of much untouched islands . The world needs more of this heavenly vibe . Thank you for doing these amazing travel videos . I'm doing research. .I hope to get there too, Karen
By the look of it you are staying at Alexandra Studios. The same place I stayed at last year. The studio you are staying is one of the ones they were renovating when I was there. This may I stayed next to the Taxiarchis church, the big one at the edge of Ag. Georgios. The road from there takes you to the starting point of the hiking trails to Ag. Athanasios and Vorini beach (with the small cave).
& there goes the beard > for myself...always a strange transition.... especially after having 1 for an extended period...1 yr or more. Now You can pass for 35 again 😉 The Greek Series = absolutely epic content Brother > continued thx for taking us along 🙏
Smaller islands have more charm, and that main town (or village) is so serene, houses nicely dispersed, not so close-knit with narrow walkways like on main towns on other islands.
My God Gabriel !!! You became Cave Hunter 😂😂😂. Joking of course. But you remind me of the Greek Partisans of WWII. Especially if you are unshaved 😂😂😂. I am astounded that you visit even the smallest Greek islands !!!! Great work by the way that I wish everyone appreciates it. Since you like exploring Greece keep going but to be safe always carry lots of water on those hikes. A thermos would be a nice idea.
Gabriel, if you are still somewhere at the Small Cyclades, please try the legendary historical Express Skopelitis ferry. There are tons of videos about it and among them a very moving documentary. It was the islanders' only ferry connection to Naxos in the winter, and probably it still is.
If I heard a voice in that cave I would have screamed like a little girl and bolted. Oh man you're looking a little pink. WOW that food worth the hike I also love your choice in music.
I absolutely LOVE your videos! Thank you for sharing your adventures with us! You look great without the beard, so much younger looking! Keep up the fantastic content. I love your positive attitude.
I think the chain and other parts need greasing and the brakes probably need adjusting. What I would do is drop it at a bicycle mechanic when I find one and say fix it. 😁 The problem is that services are very limited on these little Greek islands.
Hey Gabe, enjoying your vids as always. The last time you shaved was over a year ago while traveling in Greece. You should make it a tradition just to shave while you're in Greece, Lol😊
Dear Gabriel, avoid taking that long hikes during 13:00-17:00 cause the sun is dangerous in the summer. Thats why u ll never see a Greek outside their homes or in the sun 14:00-17:00. Amazing adventurous video btw!!!
