Fantastic Review - honest, detailed, and great production value. I think this will be my next travel bag. I owned the Nomatic 40L Travel bag and loved it but I feel the 40L was a bit much for what I was using it for.
Boy, you’re a good reviewer...I, a confirmed city rat, stumbled into your channel as I need to finally replace a backpack I abused for 12 years...(Jansport Airlift), their new ones are quite a disappointment. After watching a couple of your videos I realized about all the details to consider before making a choice. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the review, I ordered the bag and received it very quickly. I was very upset for paying 65EUR for ''import fees'' into the EU (after UPS had it delivered). So heads up to the European customers: their website does tell you there is an import fee, but in The Netherlands I paid 65EUR!!!! (I was expecting it to be around 10-15EUR).
I just discovered your channel and I really liked how detailed you make your reviews!!! I need a recommendation: I am looking for a backpack where I can carry a laptop, safety shoes and clothes for 2-3 days business trip and also have the versatility to used as a daily backpack to just go to the office. Which bag would you recommend?
My take way is our definition of travel length is different. Short is weekend, medium is 1week, and long is 2 weeks. I’ve never in 30 years of working had more than 14 days off. 2 weeks is long enough for trip of life time.
Thanks for the comment Marc, and yup, we def have different definitions. Our YT channel is mainly dedicated to Digital Nomads, so 'longer' term travel typically means indefinite travel lol. I traveled non-stop for years before settling down.
I've been scoping out this bag for a while and your badass video sealed the deal! I live in Bangkok and this will serve me well for many trips to the beautiful islands. "You wouldn't be caught dead hiking with this thing....." Challenge accepted my friend :) Awesome video bro, keep up the stellar work!
Thanks for the amazing comment and I look VERY forward to you accepting my challenge ;) No but seriously, you can def take this on a hike, but it's certainly intended to be more of an urban pack. Let us know once it arrives and what you think of it ❤️
Thank you for such a detailed review! The backpack is now available in sailcloth too! I see that you rated Tortuga 4/5 and Aer Travel Pack 2 with CORDURA a 4.2/5. How would you rate an Aer Travel Pack 2 (X-PAC) i.e. with Sailcloth? I am considering buying one of these in the next few hours almost and your opinion matters because I feel confident with how much detail you get into. I am always on the move from one place to another - work, gym, swim, weekend getaways and am certainly not a minimalistic packer!
My pleasure! If you are not a minimalistic packer then go with the biggest option - the Tortuga Outbreaker 45 liter. It's a tank. The Aer's are much smaller - also I haven't tested the ATP2 with X-Pac but I would imagine its amazing :D
@@Nomads.Nation Thank you so much for taking the time to respond with your thoughts. I truly appreciate it! I have been waiting to hear back from you for primarily two reasons. One, it seemed really tough to choose between the Tortuga and the Aer; and second, I wanted to be able to support your channel by using the links in your post to buy the bag so that you can continue to create great content for us! :) Thank you once again!
Love this review!!! I’m so torn between Nomatic travel pack and this! I love the slick business-like looks of Nomatic and waterproofing features but I’m clumsy as hell and sure to get some scratches... would you know if the condura able to survive a downpour?
From one clumsy-as-hell-person to another I wouldn't worry too much about the 'scratchiness' of the Nomatic Travel Pack. As for the Cordura in a downpour - it depends for how long it was subjected to the rain. Half a minute? Should be OK! Longer than a few minutes... probably not...
@@Nomads.Nation thank you for your reply! I have watched your Nomatic travel pack 2 review and the fragile surface you mentioned weight heavily on me! Will the scratches affect the professional looks of it?
seriously considering this one. Currently have a Fjallraven raven 28l for many years so its getting old and am missing some capacity when traveling. I use the Fjallraven for everything. Hoping the Aer will be my new everything backpack. everdaypack/gymbag/workbag and even better for short/long term travel. Awesome in-depth review, got an even better overview of the bag now.
Hii, I just came across you channel and Im really enjoying all the videos, they are really dynamic so we don’t get bored, yet super informative! Im between the tortuga divide and the aer travel pack 2. Wanted to ask which one would fit better a 13” laptop and 10.5” tablet? The aer seems to have in the front compartment a large pocket but I can’t tell if its big and secure enough for the tablet. And the setout says tablet size 9.7” so Im not sure if it would fit a slightly bigger size. Also my tablet is has a hard cover and keyboard attached so not very thin. What would be your recommendation?

Hope you tried đá cầu in Vietnam ! Thanks for video. Just purchased one regarding your test and other youtubers reviews. Need to test the bag on field but it seems really good out of box. I was hesitating with travel peak design bag but zippers, hook and too much "sophisticated feel" made me choice Aer.
In you recent video on the Able Carry Max you recommended the bag for EDC if people carry alot of stuff for normally wanted to know if your opinion has changed on the AER Travel Pack 2 or am I comparing apples and oranges? Love your content and upfront approach to bag reviews especially how you offer alternatives for people who may not benefit from the bags
thanks for the love! As for the size - it depends on what you need! I think the 33 is too big for an EDC and the 28 is too small for a longer-term travel pack.
hi, im travelling to Germany for 2 years to study my masters. Id like a backpack that can do it all, i wanna travel with it, use it to the university, load it with my supermarket purchases and everything. ideally, im thinking a good expandable backpack. im considering the Taskin 3 in 1, 20 30 40 liter expandable version. Which would you recommend? thank you from Paraguay
In your opinion, this pack vs peak design? I'm buying my first travel pack, I usually travel with a shitty pack and I'm over it. Looking for something nicer for my coming trips.
That laptop compartment looks like it can fit wayyy more than a 15" laptop. Especially after you showed how deep it can go. Was that just measuring up to wear the back sleeve ended instead of the entire compartment?
So I'm considering this as a carry-on for travel. Is it big enough for one week vacation? And a concern I have is size. I'm 5' 6" and was going to get the Able Carry MAX but saw some people on reddit say it looks too big on someone my height. Do you think the travel pack 2 is also too big for someone my height?
"...a great spot for your shitty-ass fake-ass Raybans.." made me literally LOL. Love your videos and your take of these products. Kudos for always talking about the "nitpick" things because that's what I want to know! No bag is perfect and only has positives.
Can't choose between this one and Capsule. Having said that this one is now sold out (hopefully will restock in a while), whilst Capsule is available now. Btw, just curious and nosey, why are you travelling on British passport?
Unpopular opinion I think that TP2 excells in comparison with TP3 in two dimensions. Compression straps work way better then in new version. Also when not in use TP2 empty compresses way better. Second thing is that it is 0.4ibs lighter
@@Nomads.Nation can't see the TP3 in your list of videos, so just wondering if you're still planning to review it? I've been enjoying your vibe and have watched some reviews of bags I didn't even want to buy!
@@julesbarcelonarules already shot it! Just in line to be edited + published.... maybe another week or two. Be sure to subscribe so you know once it goes live :)
@@Nomads.Nation amazing! Already subscribed, but I'll even do you one better and hit the notification bell. Thanks for the update! Looking forward to it. I've been circling around the TP3 for ages but haven't pulled the trigger because of the weight itself (working with 7kg carry on usually). Still, can't find anything as perfect (for me) as the TP3 though in a lighter weight 🤷♀️
@@julesbarcelonarules thanks for subbing! And yea, it’s really hard to find your perfect bag unless you make one yourself (which is exactly what I’m doing lol). Keep and eye out for the TP3 review 💪🏾
Thanks dude! Ahh that’s a tough one. I think I’d go with this but just barely. The PD is also a masterpiece, but maybe has a bit too much going on for my taste
@@Nomads.Nation Thanks dude. Ordered it today. Plan on seeing if it’s enough for a two week trip to Japan this upcoming summer….if Japan is open by then. Thanks again. Great channel
I think the compression straps are my favorite feature on this pack! Even with YKK zippers, I worry that a broken zipper can make for a very bad experience... The compression straps do a great job on 2 fronts... 1. With a loaded backpack, they take some of the stress off the zipper, which (I hope) adds lifespan to the main zip 2. If the worst case does happen, I can still close the pack, and hopefully not be stranded with a mess of assorted goods... I really haven't found it to be too big of a deal to undo them for access, usually I only need to access things in the main compartment during mornings, evenings, and maybe if I buy something while out and about...
Damn dude, really great points! I've tested so many bags and have never had a zipper break, but if it did I would literally be lost as fuck having no idea what to do 😂
Ahhh it depends on the airline, but I'd say mostly, no. It's 33 liters which is quite large. It's mostly going to be a carry on bag for larger airlines, and a checked bag for budget airlines
@@irenegrutman1010 hey Irene thanks for your comment! But technically this isn’t true - many airlines have tightened their restrictions. I tried to travel with a 45 liter on my flight from Hong Kong to Newark today on United and they made me check it :(
