Life in Spain is delicious, but meal times for us westerners can be confusing! IN this video we do the unthinkable and eat the entire Spanish eating schedule in a day. Five meals, over 14 hours, drinks and of course a siesta! How does anything else get done here in Spain with all of this eating?! Tapas, drinks snacks, and meals between meals, and maybe even some street food in Spain!
Well, this could be our biggest challenge yet, are we up for it? Well, join us and find out as we stuff ourselves on this Epic all day eating binge!

A Couple of Nomads?
Who are we?
Well, we are a couple from worlds apart that has chosen Valencia, Spain to be our home base. Vicky is born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, now an American citizen. Josh is an American, well, born and raised in small town, Ohio.
We left our jobs, family and friends and moved to Valencia, Spain in the middle of the pandemic. We decided to that we should also start a RU-vid channel to show the world that, you can do anything (even if you are getting grey hair), if you think you can! jajaja hacemos esas comidas pero la merienda es poca cosa y la comida mejor una ensalada....todo depende de si eres un obrero o un trabajador sedentario o un jubilado. Si seguís así vais a explotar jajaja

Another great video, Josh and Vicky. Just by watching you I get all stuffed up but I truly love Spanish food. I envy what you are doing. Can’t wait to be there in October. I asked you in my previous comment where is a good place to stay. My question now is which is the best and SAFE location, Carmen or Ruzafa to walk to all the places of interest, like cathedrals, restaurants, cafe, supermarkets. I mentioned Carmen because I think that is where the Central Market is and the Cathedral. Am I right? Please I need your honest opinion. I have been looking and have reserved but I am not so convinced of my decision. Thanks so much.🥰

Hi Stephanie, both areas are safe and great. We've been to many neighborhoods in Valencia, not once we've felt unsafe. Yes, El Carmen you will be closer to the Central market, cathedral, etc. Ruzafa is younger and hip area. Whichever you choose, they are not far from each other, you can walk and take bus/metro to many places. Hope it helps.

Most people don’t eat that much lol 😂 or we would die of a heart attack…maybe on a special day. The beans you tried are called altramuces, they are packed with lots of protein, not so popular nowadays, I normally peel them in my mouth ☺️ Thanks for the fun 🤩 video! I love a vermut by the way

Suggestion: do not throw things down the sink (like burnt toast) because you´ll end up blocking your water pipelines (I guess that you are used to it because sinks in USA are different) ;) The bean with the skin is called: altramuz (lupin in English). And don´t forget to try Horchata ;)

Spanish food is way overrated. Greasy, fried and flavourless. Give me Thai, Vietnamese, Mexican , Korean over this any day.

Jajajajaa. El "brunch" es más bien un segundo desayuno, normalmente a las 10 u 11 de la mañana (el primer desayuno es a las 7 u 8), y no pedimos tanto, quizás un pincho de tortilla o alguna tostadita con café. Esos bocadillos a las 12 de la mañana ya te quitarían el hambre a la hora de comer. Jajajajaa

Hey 👋🏼 I really like your videos! I’m going to Valencia for at least half a year and I’m really excited, need to see if I can survive as a vegetarian 😂Are there vegetarian options? For example at „menu del dià”?

Not always, but you will be able to feed very well yourself, as we have a great veg production, plus all the Chinese ones for Asian European restaurants - included valencian ones and Asian markets - "restaurantes veganos valencia" search gives you more than 400k results in google

Hi Luisa, as Miguel said, finding vegetarian options are not that hard, many restaurants offer it, and there are vegetarian restaurants too. We know several vegan friends here 😊 Thank you for watching!

I am not vegetarian but have been to one called La Lluna in El Carmen and ithe food is very nice and homemade. I know there are others with a good reputation too

I can't wait to watch your videos about your first almost normal fallas. As you like "bunyols" try FABIAN ones in C/Ciscar - even better than Russafa ones in my opinion - and show Gran Via specially Conde Altea crossing Ciscar bars and restaurants, that are another great zone to eat in Valencia.

Do the locals really eat that many times a day? or...they have the option of eating the meals they want? I couldn't eat that many meals. I did notice your nap went as planned. Thanks Guys. I like the egg sandwich the best.

I don’t think they do every time, unless they have to work early (that’s what we’ve heard). We don’t eat like this all the time either, our stomachs aren’t train for that. 🤣 But worth the try. Thank you for watching as always!

You can eat the meals you want. But we usually eat five times a day, although not so much food per meal. If we have pasta or rice for lunch we usually don't eat a second course, and tipically for dessert we get a piece of fruit or a yoghurt. Supper at home is quite a light meal, if you go out then you eat more.

Hi guys! I’m so stuffed just watching this oof 😅😅😅😁!!!! do restaurants allow two people to share a menu of the day meal? We would of course purchase the second drink but that is way too much food for my husband and I. Also, are take away bags (doggy bags in US) frowned upon? I really hate food waste but not sure if people take leftovers or not. Thx! Also PS we are also moving to Spain from Denver 😀( currently live in Castle Rock, 30 minutes S of Denver) plan to move to Spain in a few years …will be scouting out Valencia and a few other areas in Spain in the last 2 weeks of March. Can’t wait! Thanks again for the content…it’s really fun and inspiring ☺️

Hi, locals tend to share their food. So for a couple, two dishes and be adventurous with your partner's food... You may like it even more than your own choice of meal. If you are looking for sunshine you cant go wrong with Andalucía lf you are aiming at a coastal town, then there are hundred along the East coast. If you like traveling across Spain, then a central location like Madrid or Toledo.

Hi, we're glad you enjoyed our video. To be honest, portions here is much smaller than the U.S, if you don't eat Almuerzo, the lunch course meal may not feel too much. There is usually a salad option too as a first course, which will make the meal lighter. We have not done ourselves but I think it will be ok to ask for take away (para llevar).
