He's hands down one of the nicest guys (They both are!) I met him a few years ago when I was a judge for a small tournament circuit and I think he won best sportsman, and Best Overall the following year.
If only he played something other than the tau... just kidding, honestly, he plays them in a pretty fun way. Remember when he killed the knight in melee combat? That was great
We are so happy to Sponsor this video! Thanks for the amazing work of Play On Tabletop crew. We are really happy to help this channel. More to come in the future for sure!
Your stuff gives that level of extra detail and character to the models that really makes the diference. One friend of mine has painted an astonishing inceptor squad with the smokes and gun efects that's really astonishing. If you want to check it out look for albertminis on instagram (sorry for spam but definetly worth it)
I've been thinking about doing a bit of admech but the complexity of the painting was kinda daunting (I'm relatively new to mini painting), but after this I might give those skitarii rangers I've had my eye on a shot.
You know its joyous when Nick is amazed about how cool the AdMech abilities are - when they're about to tear him apart. I always love the cooperative spirit and enthusiasm of the players on this channel, and the scenery in this one was just /chef kiss
What an excellent game! Incredible terrain and an evocative scenario. Both armies played like they were supposed to. The tau were fast and tactical being able to adjust and pull clever stuff on the fly. The Admech were a defensive ceramite wall of guns ready to kill anything that moved in their line of sight. An exciting game from turn 1 to the end!
See what I’m talking about, these guys even leave replies to comments, and take into account time zones. Best Warhammer 40k channel by far, there’s not many content creators who produce this quality of video, and interact with the community. Props to you guys
Tak your Admech are lovely and you did a great job playing them this game well done. However I think you used the Eliminatio Volley strat when you couldnt have because the strat requires a unit of Kastelans and a unit of Kataphron Destroyers and I believe you only had Kataphron Breachers left on your last couple turns.
Just watched the video as an upcoming Tau player I loved this video. The amount of time and effort you put in is astounding I really hope you guys get more popular so you can make more of these videos. Keep up the great work PS if Nick has any tips for a new tau player I've played two games and have lost both although I feel I am improving :)
Tau are in a tough place right now. You have to really nail the movement phase. You can’t really make any mistakes. That said I’m having fun trying out all sorts of combos. I’ve got a kroot idea I want to try next.
Oh god, you’re really punishing yourself there. Try some XV25 and XV95s for early and durable mid board pressure, backed up with loads of breachers, veteran cadre and XV104s. A sort of “bait” and trap, a true Kau’yon, but you’d Mont’ka everyone to the center to hold. I think it’s our best bet right now.
Man, the dice were unkind to Nick in some key moments there, that mixed with a few critical misplays cost him the game, but what a clean gunfight overall. Batrep was excellent as usual, and I love seeing me som Tau and Admech.
Jan Nauels eh Table Top Titans are at a minimum like two hours long, some going to three hours plus... I like the guys on that channel but they could really take some lessons on editing down the time from this channel.
@@ErgothDerGott I`ll try to put this in the nicest way possible. First of all, Tabletop Titans are "ok". However, their camera angels are not as cinematic as Play On Tabletop. Play On Tabletop comes with close up shots, no shaky cam footage, usage of camera sliders etc, while Tabletop Titans mostly just offers the diagonal frontal view and top down view which is fine if you're content with seeing just that, but I really cherish the entertainment value that Play On Tabletop brings to... the table. For the rest, great intro's, with cool visual lay-overs of each army and informative layers and editors pop-ups during the rest. Also last but not least, their video's aren't 2-4 hours long. They are distilled into an easily digestible watch, which, means that the editor had to go through hours worth of footage and watch things over and over again to make a decision on what to cut and what to keep. I'm a video-editor myself and I can appreciate the time and effort that goes into their video's. Last, they also often take the players 1on1 and ask them how they felt about how certain moves or tactics played out and than there's the narration of it all on top. Many have said this before, but Play On Tabletop truly delivers a level of video that could easily be on TV.
Omkara Hellcore they’re two completely different channels. PoT is a prerecorded highlight game. Tabletop Titans is a VOD of a livestream, with each move explained. It’s like comparing a live football match to Match of the Day. Both, however, do their niche very well.
Agrippina is such a weird choice with only 9 kataphrons. Should have done breacher spam, as the new PL cost for breachers means 3cp can put 12 breachers on the edge when they have been shot to a man.
Been really enjoying the music and editing of these lately. There's a subtle touch that fits the armies perfectly. In particular love the part at 9:59 with the ship rising from the clouds. Paints a great mental image of clouds billows of the wings before the rest of the army moves in for firing.
Hells ya! Been craving a good tau video for awhile now! You guys inspired me to start a tau army and I learn how to better play them with each video you guys make. Just gotta grow my army a little bigger now since I can only afford enough guys for a kill team.Thank you for all of the content that you guys put out, this hobby has gotten me new friends along the way.
Brilliant game, editing, SFX and player attitudes. Really excited how 9th promises to deliver shorter, closer and more dramatic games too. You guys make batreps so effortlessly entertaining 👊
Not only is you production value incredible - as usual - but your battles themselves are of an insane quality! I mean, a literal BATTLE IN THE CLOUDS??? Heck yeah! Amazing work as always! I haven't even reached halfway through this video, and I already can't wait to see what's next already! Play On !
Gotta say as great as the on scene banter is, the editing makes this amazing. The little graphics to show who is shooting who is a perfect touch, along with just speeding up the rolls.
You had better get Tak to show us how to paint Ad mech that beautifully. Nick's shown us his t'au and all, but we demand Ad mech, in the name of the Omnissiah!
Sorry! Wish we could have it at a good time for everyone. We’re in PST. We try to switch it around for the premiere so other time zones can enjoy. Maybe we can try to hit Holland next time!
I really love Nick, win or lose he always has fun, he is entertaining to watch and his character is outstanding! For the greater good! You'll getem' next time Nick!
Consistently the best battle reports on youtube. The editing, filming, and narration is all head and shoulders above anything else. Always amazed to see wargamming presented like a prime time to show!
Great video as always. As a video editor myself, props to the guy in charge. Any chance we’ll get to see some badass space wolves action? The guys are outthere thirsting xenos blood.
Tak's first "competitive" army (at least the first he brought to a tournament) was his Space Wolves but he has since sold them. There is a rumour he is starting them back up again.
Every episode y’all knock it out of the park! Both armies were gorgeous and the production value only increases. This channel is criminally underrated and under subbed.
Another lovely Batrep with such a unique table and two beautiful armies! You guys have such a great production quality and bring such awesome positive energy to the table.
I don't know how, but you guys keep raising the bar on these. Amazing editing, amazing models, a hell of an amazing table to battle on, and amazing players.
My family and I just got into the game with two of the starter boxes and we love it so far. I'm out an army though since there are three of us and the boxes came with two. Been thinking about getting the Tau so I'm looking forward to seeing how they play in real time.
This is an awesome battle, hats off to the camera and editing crew the action was really easy to follow. I've loved getting a better look at those beautiful models while they go at it. Thanks for all that hard work guys
Finally, i found a Warhammer 40k Channel with well executed Battle Reports! Thumps up Guys! Keep this 9th Edition BR's coming... loving it so far! No one hand dice rolling, no shaky cameras, no confusion because you have no idea whats going on. Here you get multiple Camera Angles, perfect Commentary and even Special Effects!!!! Thanks Guys!
I didn't know this is how I wanted Battle Reports to be until I found it. Now I wish other batrep channels did it like you. Excellent job, please keep making videos and let us know how we can support you!
Glad you enjoyed the game! We have patreon. And, it seems like people will watch through the ads on the video which also help. Getting comments like this also support our cause and inspire us to keep going.
After discovering this channel through another Tau video a few days ago, I finally know where they got those _juicy_ shields and muzzle flashes. Definitely gonna have to get me some of those.
Surely I'm not the only person that thinks this, but you guys have the best format for batreps. Keep pumping them out and your channel will only grow. MMOOOAAARRRR!!!
Guys, I love your content so much! The most professionally covered battle reports on YT. Also, I like the length of the videos - not too long, not too short either. Please, don’t make us waiting another month for new stuff ;) Happy playin’
I think I know what to expect with you guys, and then you just blow my mind all over again. How cinematic was that! Love Nick's Tau! I run a pretty similar list and you gave me some great ideas. Thank you!!!
First thing's first: the scenario, cinematic builds, and the slight touches of the special effects are amazing. Please keep that going, it really sets you apart even further in the community! Secondly: I'd love to see some Grey Knights! They're so cool and seem so underrepresented!
I am completely new to WH40K, and I've been obsessed with it for nearly two months. I absolutely love your channel and the awesome videos you put out. I really appreciate all the hard work you folks put into it. I'm looking forward to the next one.
@@speakeroftheowls2394 there is no need, imperium weapon is perfectly fine, they have the ability to give guardsman better weapon but that would be a waste of resource, the thing about guards that makes them scary is their number,
That table setup! As a complete newb to the universe i would have never imagined it. Love the 40 in 40 series the pace is that of experienced players but when edited and voiced brings me right up to speed. Great stuff!
I really enjoyed watching this match. both players have great personalities / chemistry. they clearly like the game / are having a great time. on top of the professional editing of all this channel's videos, and this is one of your best videos yet.
Honestly one of my favorite games so far! Fun setup, interesting matchup, close games, and one of the most interesting play fields I've seen! Having it possible for the aerial units to fly low into the clouds for cover made this one very cool.
Great job, everyone. I felt like watching the NFL. This was my first watching of your content after years of YT pushing it on my feed. If you can sustain this quality of the intro, the board, the pace of the batrep and the enthusiasm of the players (especially Nick), I will be happy to subscribe. I'd love to see more AdMech and Black Templars.
As someone who is newly into Warhammer 40K, I just wanna say I thoroughly enjoy these videos, and this channel in general. It's so cool just to watch people have so much fun playing a great game
Just gotta say, Play On has very quickly become my favorite BatRep channel! The production value, players, skill, and good humor brings it all together. *happy binary*
Absolutely obsessed with these videos! I just got back into Warhammer after a 10 year hiatus and Nick has me wanting to start a T'au army IMMEDIATELY. Where does the music come from for your videos? It is exceptional.
Goes without saying y'all blew it out of the water with this one. The "battle above the clouds" feeling was so well executed on all front. I also love Tak's detailing on his bases. The Sulphur Hounds kicking up dirt/clouds, their fire softly lighting up the base. And the occasional dead Tau drone on his bases, just to hammer it home (;
