Forgot to mention that once your bases are flocked you will need to punch through the holes with a tooth pick to allow ease of placement of stands. Additionally, a dot of super glue on each stand peg may be necessary to secure a good hold.
I also flock after I have based the figures as Thorwald posted. That way it covers the bases of the strips too. You just have to be careful not to get the PVA (Elmers) on the fig before you apply the flock. Thanks for the heads up on the French Flags!
I use a short Art Brush , pour PVA glue onto an old plate, paint the glue on the base n Infantry stand then pick up flock with a pair of tweezers and jam it into the glue. The steppe grass is darker looking but has a really good colour to it
good stuff. I generally flock after I've based the minis, but the same method you use I've been using since the 1980s! Down to the plastic tub for spare grass. I've just started using tuffs. Not sure how I feel about them. If you want a mix of grass colors with some 'dead' grass, try mixing a tablespoon or so of coffee into the flocking. Nice job! ~thorne
