Today I'm trying out the New Ballistic Shield In Fortnite Chapter 5! It got a small buff but its always been VERY good in builds and today I show that off!

I wanna know everyones thoughts on the Ballistic Shield? For me i think it's great... When you're the one holding it because going against it is a pain in the ass. It's alright tbh but boy when it drops in creative it's gonna be insane.

I hate it so much whenever I’m playing with my friend and we go up against someone with one we always end up dying. I kind of feel like it’s broken and they should’ve nerfed it not buffed it

@@richardk6485 I'm honestly starting to love it, I haven't gone up against one one pubs for a while now but I always find one in chests or vaults. Sure it's OP af and seriously needed a nerf but it's fun to use. I just want it to be in creative because I feel that's where it'll really shine, with the cops and robbers maps, zombies maps, the pit, etc.

@richardk6485 If you play builds try and build above them and hit them from above or behind. If your in zero builds run right at them and get behind them.

Tip if you use flowbereys and then use a shockwave, you travel way more than you usually do with one Shockwave

It feels like you hit more shots when a person is dropping, because as long as you lead your shots, there is no way your opponent can avoid them because gravity is taking them down whether they like it or not, literally in this case.

The riot shield is good, but has some major flaws. If you get the high ground, a lot of head is exposed. If you’re good with a pump or sniper this is a great flaw. Another thing is that it dosent cover the legs, so you can hit them with a hyper SMG or slide to get a good hit with a pump. Lastly if you have the vertical fore grip on a hyper SMG or striker AR, you can easily break the shield which stuns your opponent for a few seconds. Explosives are good counters, so stick em with clingers. Lastly it’s also easy to jump and shoot for close quarters with a shotgun.

the shields are a must in zero build too, best loadout for me has been a sniper auto shotgun(with the quick reload) and the shield

Launching yourself into boxes with the riot shield becomes even crazier with an auto shotgun. There's literally no counter at that point especially with the insanity of higher tier auto shotguns.

Honestly I hate the riot shields they are super annoying to fight against and are annoying to fight with and they don’t feel like they make the game more fun or interesting they are just annoying so they either need to make some changes to them to make them more fun to use and fine to fight against or remove them completely. It’s a neat concept but it just dosent make the game fun

Ahh, yes. The weapon that needed to be hard nerfed got buffed. Thanks Epic. Good job listening to the community. I was playing with a random squad and we only had one guy alive everyone else was knocked and this dude pulled some Captain America shit. He got shot down to 40 HP. Then pulled the riot shield out and blocked every shot one by one from 5 different people. All of them pushing the Island he only fired when they were not shooting at him and he killed all 5 people and still had time to Rez two of us.

theres still a huge bug with the shield. If you have your back to any object and try to shoot the pistol it will stop the bullets from going anywhere like you are shooting a wall point blank. Ive died so many times because of that bs not being to damage people but i guess its my fault for using the dam thing lol
