Awesome to see this comparison. Top points for including C200 and ZCam S6. Own both and they are both underrated and punch way above their price point.
This was such a simple yet effective and fun comparison video. Great job. Please do more. As a former Sony A7iii and current canon user (C100, 60D, 70D, 80D), lumix s5 and ZCAM e2s6 owner, I can concur and appreciate the results. Keep up the good work.
Excellent comparison! Would you be willing to share the raw footage? I would love to be able to download to pixel peep and try to see how easy it is to color match in resolve these cameras are.
I love my S1 and Pocket 4k. Good to see the S1 keeps up with these much more expensive cameras. I actually match my Pocket 4k and S1 pretty well. Not crazy about the ibis in the S1 because it wobbles while the Pocket 4k is much more predictable.
It'd be great if you could make the shooting environment more challenging to really see where some cameras from the list fall short: backlight, couple of practical lights in the shot and a window with a sunny exterior outside to see the dynamic range, maybe a bunch of different colorful fruits or flowers to see the color gradations. Also this looks to be lit with a LED fixture and those tend to have quite a limited color spectrum, especially in skintones, so another upgrade would be to use a tungsten unit or even daylight to really see the full color spectrum that a camera can capture! Otherwise great job and keep at it!
Loved this! I like the red epic more than arri and canon more than Sony though canon was raw. I’m a hobbyist who wants a travel video camera and would love to get the best image and skin tone but with compressed codec since I’m not pro and would love to import a Lut and maybe use dehancer. Any suggestions ?
@@watzmaaname yea good point that said, I realize that for travel and hobby use all of these bodies and lenses are too big and bulky. If it can’t fit in a pocket or small fanny pack it’s too big. iPhone log on the 16 and pocket 3 may be better suited for this.
Any chance you get get them again and do a heavy backlit?? This image is not challenging for the cameras so it only a color and sharpness test. A test of the actual management of light moving in a scene (think shooting at a subject moving through a scene with backlighting/sun). Thank you either way!!!
Awsome video, I was really looking for this. I really want to buy a c70 as a solo videographer but I'm not sure if it still holds up in 2023/2024 as non full sensor camera.
It has been quite heavily rebated lately which would suggest that it soon to be replaced. And there are rumors of new Canon cinema cameras coming q1. But again the Alexa is 10 years old and still relevant.
Personally I bought the C70 used recently for a good price, I feel that it is a good investment as I like the super 35, dynamic range is incredible compared to its full frame competition and it has the RF mount making it pretty future proof. I don’t see them bringing out a C70 mk2 anytime soon, more likely a C200 mk2 and C300 mk4 with a RF mount for a much higher price. Just my thoughts, there’s obviously so many good cameras to choose from!
Just buy it if you need it for work! This is a great camera. Invest in additional equipment that will make the image look more cinematic. Why should the image from this camera look bad in a few years? we watch old movies and they still delight the masses. D o you think so much about the camera model then? Just buy and make good videos!
My hope is if this gets enough traction that I can get one for the next test. As a resolve editor I really like BRAW and a full frame pocket would be nice. But when is BMD gonna give us a box style camera?
Thanks for this comparison, always great to see them side by side! The S1 (and all Lumix S cameras) and C70 all have the same dynamic range (look at CineD Lab Tests). Simply use ''Emotive Color'' to accurately convert any Lumix S camera, BMPCC6K and S6 (and many more) into Arri Alexa in an extremely precise way. I'm not talking about a Color Space Transform.. I'm talking about a true accurate pixel-to-pixel conversion made specifically for each sensor that will completely blow your mind! You'll get the famous highlight rolloff, the most beautiful skintones ever and overall creamy look... for 35$ for Daylight and 60$ for Daylight & Tungsten (by camera). Don't skip on the Tungsten version, it makes a huge difference! Thank me later ;)
Great content. If you were to buy a camera today, would you purchase an fx3, Canon R6 Mark 2, or Zv-e1 for vlog/podcast, doc content, or any other suggestions? I also like to take pictures on occasion.
As I said really loved my A7SIII but I had to sell it because I got a lot of photography jobs at the time. I sold it for the R5C. It depends on what type of glass you are invested in…
@@creativenordson photography mode it’s an R5, which is super awesome. For video, which do you prefer more in terms of color grading and workflow the A7S3 or R5C?
@@kingkrukgaming Not considering ProRes RAW, R5C… If I get ProResRAW the I would say the Sony. I use the R5C all the time last year, only sold it due to lack of IBS and the fact that I started working with a production company that owns an Alexa mini. So the S5II suited my personal projects better.
Are you guys blind? Panasonic has the best skin tones (and also sharpness), you can actually see pink not just a dead man orange. I am amazed there is no difference anymore between 1500 bucks prosumer camera and 40000 bucks professional cinema camera. What a fun times!
in that sense Arri Alexa is just on another level with 17+ stops. Compared to it all the others are just 13 stops funny wedding cameras… you can fix color, but nothing can fix dynamic range or make it look better.
No XH2S? It can do ProRes 422 HQ internally and RAW externally, when the a7IV can't even do DCI 4k correctly or more than 400mb/s. Too bad. Otherwise, 👌🏽 video
The more I see the more I think RED cameras are overrated. Nothing crazy at all for the price. And the image has a strange look compared to other high range cine cameras
