Wow was this an adventure. We hiked down the steepest canyon I've ever attempted, for four days of gold prospecting in hallowed gold ground, the American River. And oh man was this place a treasure in itself!. Huge thanks to Mayhem Prospecting for bringing me down there, and more importantly back out! Also big thanks for sharing the drone footage Part 1 of 2

Same here, i miss summer! We had to hike out during the Heat Dome when it was over 100 degrees. It was brutal! Ausome gold though

I was just thinking that when i was editing it, wish you could've come! Its hard to show the scale of the workings down there, something worth seeing in person. The gold is great too, the bar we found the second day you can easily get a gram or two a day just sluicing. It's so darn hard to get to it doesn't get worked much.

Awesome location and great shots! Maybe you better make that bucket wet and so the gravels wet - gold is glued on clay partikels and the stones and needs to be mixed up and mixed within water before the short time in the sluice. If you compare with that test pan you might notice a little differenz.. Good luck and have fun!

Thanks for watchin! It was a really cool place, alot of neat history. Yeah you're absolutely right, i was probably losing some gold classifying dry. I was just too bushed to lug a bucket of water to the sluice and back !

@@insidebendprospecting yeah i wait for the next Part If you keep Up the good Work you have a new suscriber 😊 I meant you should at least add water at the end😉 Yeah for dry classefy that gravel might be still to wet. But yeah to hold the water Level with that classiefy system is annoying... Before putting into the sluice at least ist should be seperated and water added I think the sluice ist too short top do that

Thanks bud! We did snipe a bit, but the section we were on the bedrock was really crumbly. I'd like to go back and try again farther upstream, see if the bedrock changes. Its so remote in the right spot you could make a killing.
