Hi James, I'm impressed by the way the boxes frame you: that's a lot of comic book goodness there. I'm super-impressed by your appreciation for that issue of Swamp Thing; everyone deservedly talks about Wein/Wrightson in the first series and Alan Moore in the second series but, having read every issue of the character's titles, I can tell you that all issues of the original series and nearly all issues pre- and post-Moore in the second series more than stand up to scrutiny. GL #86 O'Neil/Adams/Giordano in 9.8 is simply awesome and my pick as best comic in this video, with the Aquaman issue/first Mera in second place. I really enjoyed this unboxing video James, well done.

That Danny Ketch Ghost Rider was a pretty good series for about the first 40 or so issues-I picked them up as they originally came out.

This may sound weird to some people, but I actually like to watch unboxing or collection videos of non-key or minor key books. My reasoning is that I almost always see key books in RU-vid videos, so seeing non-key or minor key books is refreshing. In addition, since I like to collect to display the books, I personally get almost as much satisfaction in displaying a non-key book with a great cover (based on my personal taste) as with displaying a key book.

*_That's a great haul!_* *_You should get a microscope and take pictures of the corners of the books you think are a 9.9 and then compare them when they arrive slabbed in a 9.8. It is possible to get a free microscope that you can hook your smart phone to; or buy a macro lens for your smart phone._* *_Many of my 9.8's this year have white corners in their slabbes-but didn't when I sent them off._*

Hi James, for the Mera book, wouldn't it be better to send it in to CGC/CCS still slabbed to be 100% sure the book keeps the pedigree notation? And congrats on that book, getting a pedigree copy for under FMV is awesome!

recently submitted Go Go Power Rangers #8 to cbcs. its mostly for personal reasons. But as a Power Rangers fan there is a reason. First appearance of the Ranger Slayer. Who was introduced a few years ago in the comics as an evil alternate universe version of the Pink Ranger. She gained some popularity since her debut. Ive seen other graded copies (not many) with no mention of her debut (she appears on the last page) so when I submitted it at a convention (with 2 others) asked them to make a note of it (they said theyll try to include it but no garuntees)

Cgc has decided that they want to get books out of the way as they come in and ass such is quickly grading those those books that came in in the past are still sitting in cues I will be graded in the timeline they previously set. Therefore those books you recently said will come back quicker than box that was sent in in 2021 as the policy changed this year

The 1st Mera is the 2nd generation label. I have to disagree, there was 100% a lot of pressing at that phase of CGC. Lot's of independent pressers, and CCS was certainly booming as usual. However, that market has certainly exploded more over the years. So it is more likely I will say a book may not have been pressed with those 2nd Gen labels, but certainly far from saying nobody really pressed. People have been pressing for decades. With that being said, it is universally recognized that grading during the 1st and 2nd general labels was a bit on the harsher side. So better chance for a bump off that alone.

For that Aquaman, if you crack it yourself will it retain the pedigree label / even get the new bronzeish colour pedigree label? Learned this recenrtly from Bry's Comics you can send in the label with cracked books to help make the census more accurate. not sure if you still get the discount you would get if you sent it to cgc to crack.

I really like seeing what books you are sending out and what grades they end up getting down the road. Edit: especially if you pick them up at a garage sale or flee. I’d love to see the complete journey of a book.

If you crack and press that Aquaman yourself, will you lose the pedegree?

Out of curiosity how do you maintain the pedigree once you crack and press a book? Do you send the old label with it? How do they verify that that’s the actual book?

A wise man that goes by the name of James once said “Same books in same submission get same grade”. Maybe it was Confucius, idk. Be careful brother.

Also please never be afraid to praise the fun of just getting a complete collection/run, without worrying about keys and value. There's not enough content on RU-vid with that perspective.

Be careful with cracking a pedigree slab if you want to keep the pedigree! CGC treats pedigrees like signatures, if it can’t be authenticated, they won’t give them (Especially with that new pedigree label…)

Remember, your previous experiences with sending multiples of the same book, before it hasn’t went well. I hope you get the 9.8

As far as your car getting "broken into". You left your windows down 6-7 inches....that's inviting a thief. Totally your fault.

I tried cbcs but the wait times for cgc are so much shorter now and while I don’t agree with a lot of the company’s decisions that two month wait won me over

Graders notes on my it wasn't a 9.9 or a 10 That's my problem with cgc They have 2 grades they pretty much dont use

As far as the swap to cbcs I agree fair grading but the only books I sent were damaged during grading and got a 9.6 because ethe spine was perfect but now with the 60 dollar TAT for the fast pass per book I'm not happy about that

Can you verify that the comment stating I have been "selected for the giveaway package" is legit?

If you crack and press the Aquaman by a 3rd party and then send it into CGC how will they be able to verify the pedigree status? I would be worried it would lose that.

Wouldn’t it lose the pedigree if you opened it up? I always assumed pedigree was like a signature series book that they had to witness the opening.
