Was planning on next summer as a 50th bday vacation to do power tour just once to say I've done it. After seeing all the traffic problems year after year, not sure it would be as fun as imagined. Maybe more content of side antics would help. Good luck
I did Bowling Green and back to Nashville in an all original '69 Roadrunner with 51,000 original miles. Wanted to check the box I did it once but will never do again. At least not in that car. Traffic sucked and felt like it was the most expensive traffic jam I had ever been in.
L👀ks like the best strategy is to not follow the official power tour route. And be the 1st in to that day's venue/stop. And the last one out. Or leave very early.
The backup on 231 was my buddy's truck getting t-boned on a really bad blind corner turning onto 231 from old 31W. Everyone was ok, but his ride was totaled. He piled into our junk, we hauled ass, and we punched our own passes in Louisville with 10 minutes to spare, and got our Long Hauler on Friday. He just picked up a Camaro for a steal and we'll be back on PT next year.
Trails was incredible today. Had a blast. In Indy tonight for tomorrow. Never been to trails even though I've lived in Ohio most of my life. And never been to Lucas oil raceway either. Not sure when you got to trails but I didn't see you.
Thecroute to nashville superspeedway and then back north was some screwed up routing. All everyone had to do was follow 31w to hwy 109 and that takes you to I-840 to the superspeedway then go back the same way back to I-65 IN KENTUCKY.
That Buckees hat looks like it’s about two sizes too small for your melon. The paint job was heroic but sucks. However it keeps your think box from over heating.
First day I called that a 454.. I was wrong eh? 4.3L V6 despite not sounding like it.. the 454 truck I was thinking of is the SS.. which a guy I went to high school with had one. I saw a post on facebook yesterday where a white 30-34 Ford with red interior and a red top got hit and damn near took the whole front end off the car.. Hope whoever was driving it was okay, and they decide to replace the Chevy engine with a Ford in the rebuild. Man, it amazes me that none of those cars can just mat the gas and roast the tires at will. We used to have a 66 FJ40 with a fiberglass body and a 400hp Chevy V8 that any time you got into the secondaries, it'd just lay patch for 200+ feet IN EVERY GEAR. It was the one redeeming quality about that thing. It had the Toyota version of like a NV4500 where it had granny first and od 5th and 4:11 gears with 33X12.50 MT's. It rode like shit, felt like riding a spring board, it couldn't stay in it's own lane going down the highway, it SUCKED offroad.. but it was seriously fun to rip through the gears in. 20mpg.. with all the smog stuff still intact? Damn! I've heard that Lu-a-vul is another acceptable pronunciation, especially from someone with a Mississippi accent.

It's definitely been a lot less issues with lines when you show up late that's for sure! Unfortunately this is a family friendly channel so "Night Life With Austin" wouldn't be appropriate 😉 BUT yes, unfortunately most folks when they do a HRPT don't experience much of what the area has to offer.
