🏔️ Summiting Mt. Whitney: An Epic Adventure 🏔️
So, I decided to take a little midnight stroll starting at 11:15pm up the Mt. Whitney trail, just a casual 21-mile hike with a 6,600-foot elevation gain. 😂
The whole adventure took 16 hours, with 12 of those hours spent moving. The rest was spent catching my breath, absorbing the views and taking pictures/videos. 📸
Despite the smoky skies in the days before and expected after, I lucked out with clear air on the big day. ☀️
This year, I made a point to pace myself and really soak in the experience. I even tried some new tricks to fend off altitude fatigue above 13,000 feet. It was still VERY challenging, but at least it wasn’t the complete sufferfest it was last year! 💚🌲
All in all, it was a wild adventure, filled with more “this is amazing” moments than I can count. 🥾
