On one of your trips, Hayley, you should fly into Hawthorne, NV. The resident airport operator is a really nice woman, Betty Easley, who I met many years ago when a friend's 182 had an engine failure and he landed it at Hawthorne. She is a very petite lady who will greet you when you come in and she will pamper you. She loves taking pictures of airplanes and she publishes a weekly newsletter about those who drop in. I used to call her on the unicom 122.8 whenever I flew over in whatever 737 I was flying for United. She used to love that.
Hayley, Thanks for taking us along for the flight up to Pyramid Lake and the geyser. My wife and I visited Lake Tahoe, Carson City, Reno, and Virginia City a few years ago. We did not have the opportunity to visit the Pyramid Lake area. The Sierra Nevada mountains and the Carson Valley area is truly one of the most beautiful parts of America. My brother in law and his wife live in Reno and own a business there now. We are hoping to visit them in the next year or so. I appreciate the work you put into your channel and enjoy tagging along with you on your aerial adventures! All the best from Nashville, TN! 😊
Thanks for taking us along. There is nothing like a beautiful day of flying over the lakes if you want to make a video of the oil change and any maintenance done to the plane sometimes the hanger stuff is just as good as the flying stuff.
I love your videos, only recently discovered them. I learned to fly when I was 14, I had a very cool uncle that moved out to Gold Springs near Columbia State Park from Massachusetts in 1978. He had many planes through the years and taught me to fly them all. I now live in San Diego and have not been to my home town of Modesto in many years so it may have changed since then. Columbia Airport(COA) is where I learned to fly and as a very young fella to me it was the coolest little airport but like my home town that may have changed. In your travels have you ever landed there? I'd be curious to know if it has kept it's charm through the years.
I watch all your videos and love them. The desert is pretty especially on sun down when you get deep shadows. Your beautiful airplane seems like it just wants to get in the air so easily upon rotation speed. You could come up to KJSY sometime and see some beautiful country. I will buy you lunch. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent video Hayley . Feedback: Is there a way to reduce the volume or gain on your headset mic? Your voice seems to get distorted when speaking, but it’s actually better with your radio transmissions. Radio gremlins are so difficult. you have more talent and experience than I ever will but just wanted to offer that humble feedback
Good idea on waiting to land, you and Debbie could totally do it but the surface can be deceptive. Buddy of mine set his 182 down in a slightly wet spot and almost didn’t get back up. Awesome area though!
@@FlywithHayleythanks for the response, I remember seeing something about that. I’m not a pilot I just live aviation and would love to fly someday. I literally grew up in the back of a float plane as my babysitter at 2-3 years old.
It was upgraded by the previous owner from a 2 blade! from what I’ve read it’s quieter and better efficiency (and is also needed if you want to upgrade from the IO520 to the A36 IO550)
@@FlywithHayley Had the biggest bumble bee you ever saw in my car while stuck in fast moving four lanes of traffic was lucky to wave it out my window. Desert is is gorgous Thanks for the ride keep them coming!
I started out controlling traffic at a tower in Monroe LA and I was working local control, and we had a pilot come in and request a straight into one of our non-active runways. I approved it and asked if he had a problem, and he said there were some bees in the plane. LOL he asked if he could turn off the plane and exit on the runway. I approved it since we weren't using that runway anyway. We all watched him jump out and run around the plane several times and then got back in and taxied to parking. I always wonder what I would do if a bee was in the plane. hahaha
That was a successful flight drive of you Hayley over the Epic Desert Aerial. Hayley you can face any challenge successfully while you drive your Beechcraft
Great videos. Enjoy them a lot. Hey question for you - what do you use to edit your videos? I've been shooting videos of my flights, but haven't found a good editing platform as yet. Thanks, Bill
👍 to You! Finally a flight video where the pilot really uses a Check List for aircraft operations to include briefing the plan for an engine problem/ failure on departure. Your poise , planning , confidence and professionalism is a breath of fresh air . I 👏 You as a fellow Aviator. From a 4000 hr Army Aviator keep up the great job!
Hey Hayley, love your videos. Not sure if it is legal or not but have you ever considered tinting the windows on your plane? It's a beautiful plane, just thought some light tint might help with heat and would look nice too. 🙂
Excellent video Haley. Is there a way to reduce the volume on your microphone? For your headset? Your voice seems to get distorted when speaking, but it’s actually easier to hear your radio transmissions. you have more talent and experience than I ever will but just wanted to offer that humble feedback
Hello Hayley watching and enjoying your video right now. Loved the opening shot ;) Hey are you not flying jets anymore? I really enjoyed that content a lot. Thanks
Love the videos . . . I moved out to Reno specifically for the wide open spaces that you are so graciously showing the world. On one hand I love showing it off. . . on the other hand, I really hope people just come to look and do no harm while leaving no trace. Thanks Ms. Herberg. We are indeed lucky to be able to live here:)
As a student glider pilot we had some kind of wasp in front of me up front on a short flight. It actually seamed to become sick. So it was no problem to just leave it alone. Moving it miles away from its hive probably killed it I would guess. I agree with you about the desert. Thanks Hayley!
Thanks for taking me along! That Debi is an amazing plane. One improvement I can suggest is your wing cam is showing a prop that looks like it's wind milling. If you can slow your shutter speed to 125th of a second it will look more natural. I know it will be blurred, but that's how I'd want to see it if I were riding on the wind tip.
your plane is in excellent condition given its age. nice flight. maybe fly over to Ely? driven through there many times would love to see what it looks like from up in the air. t.x. for sharing with us.
Wasp in plane no good👎😳 Pyramid Lake orbit 👍Dead Cow flyover👍 But not a place to land a nice looking Beech 👎unless required, its really dusty. Talking about a bush plane 👍👍Thank you!✌
Loved this Hayley, wish I could come along and experience this in the real. Re wasp, consider taking along some bug spray, I have some on my sailboat for those kind of moments. Scary time was when I got one inside my motorcycle helmet and it's crawling around right in front of my face... Do I open the visor and blow it further inside or hope it blows all the way out? I turned my head to the side and fortunately the wasp exited all the way. No animals were harmed in this manoeuvre!
Hi Hayley! You sure picked a beautiful, blue sky day for this adventure! The desert is just another masterpiece, thanks Mother Nature. Loving your choice of music. Great video, thanks for taking me along 🤗
Hayley, have you met Trent Palmer ? He has flown by the geyser many times with his beautiful KitFox. He has his own runway by his house near Reno. It would be cool if you met him. BTW do you have your ticket for gliders?
