Captain Jack Sparrow is my absolute holy grail doll. For years I've been trying to save up for him but never able to get him 😟

I only recently found out about him. I'm so excited for you! :D I keep everything that comes with a doll; for me, it's all part of the experience of having them, and knowing they're mine. I don't have doll-collector-level numbers of dolls, and more than half of them are playline. I write my name on the box, and I date it. I just have to touch everything, and save everything. xD And I'm looking forward to seeing the future content! ^-^

The captain jack sparrow doll was always one of my favorite collector dolls, I had him when I was 7 since he was at the New York Toys R Us, but my mom sold him at a garage sale and recently I found both him an Angelica in box for $95 inbox which was an amazing deal and now I display him in my room as one of my most favorite barbies

Congratulations on your gorgeous doll. He is my grail doll too but those prices are scary even as a used doll. I listened with great interest to your commentary about creating a private little world through your dolls to deal with the bad stuff in your life. This is true for me too, and I suspect for many others. I just started collecting during Covid. When the numbers were terrible I retreated in my doll world, sewing clothes for them and writing short stories about their lives. In a world that is out of control this hobby gave me control. It is very therapeutic and I am researching doll play in adults as I explore my own play. Partly to justify my collecting, but also I am genuinely curious how dolls can be used in therapy. Several doll collectors use their favourites as actors in stories they create as you and I are doing. It is really creative stuff. Your husband is so understanding. My husband is mystified and I have to explain it to him in psychological /scientific terms so he gets it. So that is one reason I am informally doing research.

And please know I’m a man and I rock my pirate boots all fall and winter long! So as much as i know u were being funny, just don’t think too poorly of us not afraid to do us!!

If you don't keep the box, the cert isn't necessary but if you were to sell Jack dressed with all his clothing and accessories AND w/the box, the cert is an added bonus, even if he's not sewn in. Not necessarily a financial bonus. 50 years from now the people will get more with the cert and the box and Jack as original. I guess, anyway. I do have several dolls in display boxes just for dust purposes and I have two Basics boxed but other than that, I want them out of the box and mostly redressed; in fact mostly rebodied.

I absolutely want to get this doll but the only thing I don't like is the little chin hair on them. I wonder if that can be cut and taken out without it looking weird? Or maybe they can be picked out so that it's just flowing chin hair instead of it being little braids

congrats on getting johnny depp my live action gaston doll looks just like actor who plays him but i dont get it they did such a great job with male doll when was time to make belle not go good now the only live action dolls they make is huge ones i have some ideas for belle and mulan i thinking like oufits form live action dolls but thinking gaving them orginal girls i not fan of habro dolls as collector sometimes doll play sets for fashion dolls by way ilove johnny oufit
