The final leg of our weeklong journey across the Oregon backcountry is upon us. Join us as we pass through miles of high desert sagebrush, across vast treeless prairies, and over multiple mountain ranges on the final push towards the Alvord, treated to vista after incredible vista over every rise. Hands down, the most epic drive I've ever experienced.
Many thanks to Jason of ‪@PrimalOutdoors‬ for his work developing this route, inviting me along, and providing much of the footage seen in this episode.

Donald, this whole series has been such a pleasure to watch. You showed the beauty and challenges of this route so eloquently, this is by far the best series of videos I have seen on RU-vid in very long time. Seeing this series come to an end saddens me, but excites me for our next big camping on the side of a dirt road adventure. Jason

Thanks Jason. It has been a pleasure to edit these thanks to the amazing footage. My viewers are in for a bit of a letdown on my future excursions, haha. :-) This was by far the most amazing trip I've taken, and I very much look forward to our next expedition.

It is RU-vid channels like yours, Jason's, Coyote Works and others. This is the reason I don't watch Network TV anymore. This is such fascinating entertainment. I could just keep watching all day long. Exploring the West, particularly Central & Eastern Oregon is a favorite of mine. This has been a great series, thank you !!!

I am blown away by how beautiful and fun this trip has been. Like you said mile after mile just kept getting better and better. A nice little skiff of snow and hundreds of miles of remote desert to explore are just what we all need right now.

John how is the camping in Florida. As an Oregon native I've spent hundreds of days under the stars. If we moved to Florida, how is it? How does it compare? It's one of few states we have thought to move to, but Oregon has been amazing.

So many people tend to underrate the beauty of that part of Oregon I’ve yet to figure out why it’s so underrated. It might not be the green, lush of Western Oregon but it has its own beauty that should be explored to it’s fullest. And of course as always another great video!!

End of another series. I enjoy your journeys. I mostly enjoy the drive: compliations/solutions/trail solutions. Scenery is a very close 2nd. Videography is amazing and somehow the voiceover with the music is just spot-on. When possible I take the un-beaten path in my own Forester which is far too rare. Thank you for sharing your excursions. Especially love the snow - and the beauty it brings. WOW - to the whole thing. Just amazing!

I'm so happy that Jason was able to do this before Megan's accident and hope that she is doing well and they both, as well as you and yours, Donald, have a wonderful new year.

Epic journey Donald! Seriously. I've loved these videos, and from two of my favorite channels on youtube. If you had Casey from Coyote Works in that caravan and I would have sold my house on the east coast and moved to Oregon this morning. Modern day explorers and adventurers. While many of us are locked up, looking at our rigs, you are out there, inspiring us to gear up and get back to that trek and satiate that wanderlust that's present in all of us. It's primal, important and necessary. Thank you.

8:43 SH series Foresters have a design flaw in the parking brake (according to my mechanic) where brake dust, dirt, and water gets in and binds up the cable and pivot points, especially if you live up north in the rust belt. The once a year preventative maintenance is to take the rear disk/drum brake assembly apart, clean it, use silicone grease on the pivot points, then squirt penetrating oil down into the cable. I've been having a similar issue with my Forester, especially in the winter, and this maintenance really helps prevent problems. Great video with amazing scenery! 😃 Great teamwork, you guys are awesome! 👍

I thoroughly enjoyed this series as I always do your videos but these really were quite amazing. The camera work, editing, sound, everything just absolutely blows some "professional" stuff I've seen away. I concur that I could easily see this making it to bigger screens. Anyway, loved the videos, and they always help to motivate me a bit to keep trying to make my own videos better too. I'm always trying to learn things from yours. I hope you keep making videos and sharing your experiences no matter what happens with the Forester. But also hoping its saveable. 🤞
