Wow, I rarely watch videos from beginning to the end, but this one is so captivating, with the motion, the music, the steep dives down along the rocks, and Utah's scenery, one of the most amazing in the world. And this is published in 2011, so many years before the drone hype, still some of the aerials are better than what can be accomplished by a drone!
Goosebumps is right. I've probably watched 20,000 youtube vids and never commented on a single one, but felt compelled to comment on this one. It's absolutely amazing! I've seen this part of Utah from the ground, but seeing it from the sky, along with the beautiful music, is stunning. Looking forward to more.
It's perfect because it's yours. You are at the pinnacle of a new art form. I just started watching these and your choice of music and scenery are breathtaking. Don't let anyone ever dissuade you from your work... We could never have enough of these to sate our thirst for beauty...Namaste! Namaste indeed... I see your light.
I have watched this video so many times but still cannot get enough. Truely awesome scenery, smoothe flight, soothing music and just a great FPV video. This is what I enjoy about FPV and one day would like to achieve this type of quality. Thank you for posting these awesome videos.
Amazing! An incredible combination of flying skill, scenery, editing, and music! Truly a new art form, as someone already said. Leaves the viewer wanting to see more, a lot more!
Without doubt the most wonderful work I have seen as of late. Should be an award for footage and editing such as this. This had the effect of giving my tearducts a good work out. Yeah, I cried.
WOW!!! My friend Ive been waiting for more people to post some videos of these places. Being of Native descent Ive often wondered what my homeland looked like from the sky. I felt as if I was a bird searching for a nest in this vast canyon land. I myself am building my fpv system and would love to learn your setup. Have some questions about the dragonlink. Let me know and thankyou so much for this amazing and beautiful video. You are so talented and have great skill. keep up the great work!!!!
Incredible talent. Stunning cinematography. What an amazing gift from Team Black Sheep. iMax could only hope to get that good. Thank you for the journey. You've given me a wonderful goal to aim for. Won't settle for less.
Wow thank you for making and sharing this video.. This is the type of stuff that make you want to live change your life and fly away.. But i will leave the flying away to you.. thanks so much for you video..
I did check my pulse. It was elevated. Great job. Really enjoyed it. If you could stabilize roll some it would be even better. Love the river too. You've done a really good job. Glad you didn't crash when you hit the rock in the opening scene. Keep it up. Post more.
Dude, No Bullshit, that was an epic journey, the whole shabang, production, music and excellent flying was simply brilliant, I'm in the process of setting up my first FPV quad (HK DeadCat 450) and cant wait to be able to fly like this, well done and please keep sharing!
Thanks guys! Glad everybody likes it. It was a lot of work to put together, it means a lot when people enjoy it so much. Hopefully lots more to come in 2012!
Excellent video Todd, as an old R/Cer from the 70s & 80s I've recently been reintroduced to it, I just have to get my head around the new technology, I've been doing a few videos flying VFR & carrying a camera & I'm yet to try FPV but after watching your videos, I'm Inspired, keep up the good work.
You rock!! Awesome video!! You really pulled this off better than I dreamed in my trip. I have a new wing I am working on. Might try another trip out there.
Very well done. I don't know if I would have the courage to risk my FPV bird in some of those tight squeezes - I thought you had torn your wing off at 0:11! Beautiful video with a beautiful soundtrack to match.
My jaw hit the keyboard in the first sequence. Beautiful music, great job of flying, very creative edit, this video has a majestic feel to it that must be worthy of some award. i love the train flyby especially, and the video at the end of the river scene. Just an amazing project well done, and Im off to google E.S. Posthumus to find some music for my videos. :-)
Hi Todd, only recently discovered this video, Very, very well done to you and Ken, wonderful music as well! be proud of yourself my friend, perhaps a FPV flight over the Bavarian Alps beckons you or even the Lake District in the UK? Have fun Mark.
Best advice for editing is to use a package you're comfortable with. I'm a Premiere guy, but have tried Vegas, and it's great. Now that Premiere has the motion stabilization built-in like Vegas does, they're about equal in performance. As for flight planning, always plan out your flight before you launch. Decide where you're going to go, & areas you need to avoid. Always use a spotter. Identify obstacles that might block your signal and avoid them. Stay close until you're comfortable.
This reminds me of a UK schools programme insert from the 1990's. No adverts were allowed during schools programming so if the timings didn't match they used an educational "filler" . Everytime I hear Bronski beat "tell me why" I asscociate it with these images.
Totally awesome! I can feel really professional work here. Thanks for this video - I've bought Deep Reaper XL myself =) Todd, do you mind giving me some hints about video editing and flight planning? Thanks!
top job on the flying skills and footage , I see the go pro has the reflective problem with the lens when looking into the sun . still produces a nice clear picture though . it looks great on the 55inch plasma anyway.
@thatstheguy07 If I'm not mistaken, that's the potash plant just outside Moab. In another shot, you can see the blue and white settling ponds (for potash).
@MotherPlaneRC Actually, a lot of people do use the GoPro as an FPV cam, but it introduces a slight delay in the video, which is not good when flying close to the ground. A quarter second delay could be deadly. But it works great if you have a stable plane or multicopter that's not getting quite so close to the terrain. They made the GoPro Hero2 very easy to set up live video out.
Wow some of the nicest FPV flying I have seen yet. Great choice of music and the scenery is breathtaking. I have been doing FPV for a few months now with a multirotor, it has been the most rewarding thing I have ever done with rc anything. How do you find the 2.4 video link when flying around obstacles? ie trees and rocks. we have a canyon here that I want to fly down but not sure which way to go 1.3 or 2.4 for the video.
