Fun fact, in France we normally use old bread for making the French toast. The bread is getting too hard so we use milk and eggs to refresh it. It's actually calling Pain perdu which mean "bread lost". And in my opinion it's a desert for don't losing food, not a gourmet desert like other country think it is. ^^
