Now they can also do a Captain Britain Betsy too . In the Comics Betsy got her original body and look back and Kwannon got her body back both have a Psy blade but use their powers different now . Betsy became Captain Britain in the Ten of Story line and her brother Brian was given the name Captain Avalon . Kwannon was put in her original body and kept the Psylocke name both was put back in their original before the Krakoa era started.
Thanks for the review, mate... It's absolutely smashing! I agree that the tattoos were unnecessary but it doesn't detract from the rest of the figure. Oddly enough it came from a guy who has tattoos - but I get it that the statue should stay true to its original looks. Cheers to a brilliant statue!
Im getting their Raven. First ever custom statue too. Going the custom route exclusively since they are the only ones making Raven. As the biggest Raven fan I cant wait after seeing this! This geisha Psylocke is amazing. Most Psylocke portraits look ugly af. Loving their Geisha line. You getting the Rogue Geisha? That looks stunning too
She is a nice statue. Of all the places I shop online for my statues. I have never seen these offered.Who is the manufacturer? And where do you place an order for this line?
Thanks for the support! Unf I can't share the group's name or link, but if you search on FB for this statue, I think you should be able to find them ;)
She looks great! Of course, having a break is no fun, but I think it did break the best way it possible. Did you order her from ebay? Do they have another site where they sell her - the only place I found her was ebay...
This face sculpt is literally perfect. I've seen a lot of Psylocke statues where she doesn't even look Asian, much less actually look like Kwannon. Everything else... the tattoos are a bit trashy. The leggings painted in a flat latex looking shine is a miss. Even the cherry red lip is uncharacteristic of this iteration of Psylocke. They could've used a nice wine or mauve and still had the pop of color be a nice focal point. I kinda wanna just take this head and put it on a more classic Psylocke body, maybe with a slightly more voluminous hairsculpt as you said. Some third party could make a nice chunk of change if they did so.
Great review and love the detailed shots. I don't really like the statue since it doesn't represent Psylocke to me. Your absolutely right in that it's not Jim Lee Psylocke.
Yeahh, I just sort of turn that part of my brain off and accept it as an alt version of her. At least the portrait is pretty, most they've done of her aren't imo.
Man, they really went for the knee shooters. I prefer Psylocke with a solid B-cup. It does my heart good to see a guy with tattos say "she didn't need the tattoos." Enjoy in good health man.
Thanks! I wish I could share the name but I'm not able to unfortunately. That said, if you search FB for geisha Psylocke statue, I'm sure you'll be able to find them! Good luck!
The problem with this is that they're using normal human proportions and not comic character proportions that's done by the IMAGE artists. Actually McFarlene Toys should do something similar to the Kotobukiya statues but based on the comic scenes. Obviously for Psylocke, it's the scene where she was coming out of the water and Cyclops just staring at her in Jim Lee's X-Men #8. As for that scene, you actually don't need a full statue but a 3/4 body. I'm sure it's not that difficult to have an AI make a 3D version of that comic scene and maybe 3d print it.
It's a beautiful statue. I think it's important do say that the real artist behind this is Bylayne (she had her art stolen and never got paid for it 😢).
They took this from an artist named Layne, she goes by they handle ByLane. She is incredibly talented and drew, a bunch of Geisha versions of the X-Men women. CBS Labs used her art as a basis.
wow I didn't even remember seeing her in the websites. Did you also preorder the zaohua yor forger statue? I can't wait to get mine. and can't wait for your review if you did.
That was my knitpick with the statue too. Tattoos. No real geisha is going to have tattoos. That is a yakusa thing, not a geisha thing. In Asian society it is considered the most beautiful and feminine to have the whitest and blemish free skin possible and geisha (the real ones) are considered the pinnacle of feminine beauty. To tarnish ones self with tattoo art would be forbidden.Tattoos make a woman common and geisha are most certainly not common. But other then that it's very nice.
Yeah exactly, that's why I could have done without the tattoos. It's "artistic interpretation" I guess though, so I'm able to overlook it. The portrait is killer, that's the most important thing to me.
@@jessetran7463 That's actually a really good point. Tatts aren't very "geisha" but if this is just Yakuza Psylocke cosplaying as a geisha this makes a lot more sense. Thanks!
Congrats on getting the piece in.. Psylocke appears to have turnout decent enough. Thanks for the review. I managed to obtain one via and ebay seller with very good feedback. Until i see the piece in person (it is currently stuck in customs) i cannot comment further. I hope it is the real-deal without breakages.
@@PrimeCollectibles Statue arrived today - broken. The hair at the front had snapped off, marking up some of the bodt paint work. A large blue section had snapped off the back. For some reason the black foam was in the shipper box so that the strap connectors were at the bottom of the box meaning the statue was facing downwards? (sure couriers can transport the box facing in any direction.). Looks like i will need to fix the statue. I really hate it when that happens. The statue appears to be the real deal in a 'C' box. As the seller stated it, is an early un_numbered Artist Proof.
Hey! It was super limited run and long sold out. You could check eBay but most of the ones on there are unfortunately fake/knock offs :( - Good luck on the hunt though!
@@PrimeCollectibles perhaps they took inspiration from the tattooed ninja girls from anime like Ninja Scrolls, or someone suggested to add tats for added cool factor and yes like you I like the Jim Lee Psylocke, man those eyes bring out the basement nerd in me.
@@PrimeCollectibles Have you ever looked into 3D printing? I know this particular model was originally a 3D print. It's so much cheaper but admittedly you have to learn how to paint.
@@frankjones9839 I think the files you're seeing in the wild for this are not as good as the official. I've seen some horrendous print jobs out there. But ya, I've always been interested in 3D printing, just don't have someone who could paint them for me.
Unf if you're not part of the custom group on Facebook you can't really get these. If you look around FB enough I'll bet you can find them and send an invite request though.
@@TvmoviesNtoysYea usually people won’t tell you the names of the groups, these are customs so they’re making these illegally without a licence. So you’ll just have to search for yourself and find the groups.
Hello friend, the statue is great, but in all seriousness, you can take off your underwear,I don’t like underwear,I’m seriously thinking about collecting statues of that style, but I hate that they’re always in underwear. Thanks for the video.
Top half 8/10 bottom half 3/10 - i really dislike her legs - makes her look like a sumo wrestler, way too chubby! Also how could they leave out her iconic red sash? That would have made the statue pop SO much more!
Yeah, I'm with you. I would have preferred a much slimmer Psylocke all around. Could have been just as sexy but not have the same overly voluptuous body so many of these statues have. Still.. portrait is beautiful.
Beautiful pieces. Too bad about the tattoos. Geishas don't wear tattoos unless they are affiliated with the crime world. But that's real life this is a comic book character.
The promo pics for this statue looked so good, the paint job was excellent and she had a very... sasha grey kind of look to her face. I would have to say that seeing the finished and shipped product that the paintjob fell well short of the promo material. I got a knock off 3d resin print of this statue(in about 170mm range), and I felt that I did a much better paint job than this, particularly because I am a mini painter and my model was much smaller, but the face here looks.... well terrible.
Oh really? I dig the face. It looks better in person than what cam can pick up and it's definitely not as nice as the proto, but I'm still pretty happy with it. It's just more cartoony and I'm ok with that. To each their own though.
@@PrimeCollectibles ooooh sorry i reread my comment, and I came off kind of asshole-ish. I did not honestly expect anyone to read it. "Terrible" was a gross exaggeration, and unnecessary, sorry. I did look at a diffreent review of the model and decided that the face did have a lot of the charm of the promo material, but it just felt kind of flat to me, but I'm picky kuz again, I come from a mini painting background where everything has to be exaggerated. Im glad you are happy with the statue, last thing I wanna do is poo-poo something someone is happy with. Cheers~!
Psylocke does NOT have Tattoos! Nor would a Geisha have Tattoos! Without Tattoos I would have been interested. It's more like a Yakuza version of Psylocke.
I have been to Japan many times, and I have studied the country. In Japan people with Tattoos are either Yakuza or are generally regarded as being very low class. It's almost like the United States in the 1950s to 1980s. It wasn't until MTV and the Rock Stars started sporting ink that it started to become mainstream. Before that it was Bikers, Sailors, and Gang Members. Two of those 3 were more or less undesirables.
@@bladestar2322 Someone made a good point. The previous owner of this Psylocke body was a Yakuza before she got the "mind" of Betsy. So there is some context that makes sense here.
One of the most beautiful sexiest piece i've ever seen...Sh'e's no doubt outsatnding...Have to get her eventually...honestly I ran out of space...but considering i just started collectiing only 3 months ago...already not much but i have 10 nice pieces... But 10 nice pieces...all damn expensive....all 1/4 scale...
