Its because the pillars were passing the camera faster than the shutter speed. (Or in this case, the frame rate of the game). A similar thing happens when cameras record the spinning blades of a helicopter or a propellor aircraft

The first car nearly made it to the Mediterranean. There was something very funny about the tour bus finishing upright. Great to see Stiggson in the flying car, even if he blew the landing. Great video, 219 High Speed Jumps is a huge achievement, well done.
