I love how often they hammer home the "giant insects can't fly, so we have the advantage" thing in the early game, only for the late game to happen....

The EDF wiki for the characters is kind of hilarious. *Tactics Officer* Rather like Ops in Earth Defence Force: Insect Armageddon, the Tactics Officer is the competent and sensible member of the command staff, in contrast to Ohara and HQ neither of whom could make a dozen from two sixes. She is level-headed and professional, if a little bad at metaphors sometimes. *Ohara* A professional "Ravager Researcher," he had an unclear but apparently major role in preparing Earth's defences against a second invasion... ...from then on he will routinely speak up during missions and speak with HQ, often waxing philosophical and proposing rather bizarre hypotheses about the Ravagers and the giant insects. His character appears to be inspired by Intel from Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon, and he is of similarly debatable competence. *HQ* He is inconsistent in his views about the Ravager invasion, is given to inspiring, confusing speeches, and often requires multiple explanations before he believes or understands something that others are trying to tell him. The Tactics Officer usually has the unenviable task of trying to talk sense into him, and he is generally baffled at Ohara's explanations.

adam berg actually, he doesn’t. The yellow/white pack is the health and he jumps over it. He collects the red box and those are armor pickups. They increase your max health (obviously they have to complete the mission first before their armor increases).
