Quite possibly my favorite game franchise, and I'm old enough to have been around from the start! I really enjoyed the Samus Returns theme. I spent a lot of time hunched over my Game Boy playing through that game - many times in fact. Thanks for sharing this great performance!

This is really fantastic. I've been listening to a lot of VG piano on youtube this past year and there's plenty of FFVI and Chrono Trigger and those are great, but NOBODY is doing Metroid. And this pretty much perfect.. I don't know how it could be improved. Thanks Anilmalisa Keys!

Kraid's Lair is one of the first songs I obsessed over as a kid trying to learn to play piano by ear. I love how you transitioned from it to SR388 (but I also love how you transitioned from everything else to everything else). You have such an amazing knack for capturing the essence of this series' atmospheric and layered music with just one instrument. Norfair Ancient Ruins is especially a track that I almost never hear arrangers of even bombastic orchestral tracks get "right," but you really nailed it.

I don't know how I missed this video - this is incredible! Metroid is one of my favorite series (I've only ever played the 2D ones) and hearing them all in your style as a medley is incredible. I love how you follow the progression of games and even the progression inside the game. i.e.: you start with NES Metroid at the title screen, and then go to Bristar, and then Kraid's Lair. You then hit the SR388 surface music from Metroid II, and then go into Super Metroid starting at the beginning and then working your way deeper into it... just that alone is so cool it really takes you on a journey through the games. Incredible playing - recording this in one take is something I would have been so scared to do. Also, I love the cosplay as well! :) Really awesome playing and i'm super stoked for your channel in general! I think I remember when your channel was at 400-500 subs and now you're well on your way to 1,000 - that's incredible! well deserved. PS: that transition at 5:59 was perfect omg.

Omg thank you so much!!! It means a lot! This was one of my favorite videos to put together! I'm obsessed with Metroid too, hehe. I would highly recommend playing Prime if you have a way too. It's so beautiful, right up there with Ocarina of Time I think. And I really enjoy Dread! It's one of the more challenging Metroids for me, or maybe I've played the other 2D ones so many times they feel easier haha

@@AnimalisaKeys that's awesome!! i can tell you put a ton of effort into this one and it's great :). I have my old gamecube still in working condition so i will pick up Prime and try it out! I'm excited for it... playing through Dread was amazing, and it hyped me up to replay all the old 2D games.... it's probably time to check out some of the 3D ones :) I'll let you know how it goes!

Your videos are so good. You have feeling and dynamics. Clean playing. Some pianists sound technical and mechanical but by comparison yours is soulful. Keep up the good work! I really enjoy your ChronoTrigger, Final Fantasy, and Zelda soundtracks. By the way a Dragon Quest 8 OST would be amazing!

I never thought you'd top my personal favorite (Dungeons Theme from Startropics), but here you did, and then some. I listen to a lot of these piano covers, Tom Brier mostly and also a lot of electric guitar covers of old NES tunes, but you're quickly becoming one of my favorites. Can't thank you enough for the amount of work and heart you pour into these. I hope someday you'll consider doing a similar treatment of Kid Icarus. Runda's Battle is so good it is wild. The chords and perhaps your piano add so much more...grunge? to it. Love it! Still just 6 weeks or so into my piano lessons, broke into chords last week and learning the black keys this week! Your videos give me motivation to practice every night!

This is an incredible medley Annalisa! Such wonderful, beautifully precise playing and the arranging really captures the feel of the original pieces, while translating perfectly onto the piano! Kraid's Lair was definitely my favourite (it's always reminded me of Castlevania music for some reason, haha)

This was sick! I only caught the very end of it live cause I'm busy with finals, but I made sure to watch it from the beginning when I was free and I was blown away. One of the most killer musical tributes to Metroid I've ever seen, right up there with virt's "Crystal Flash". I was particularly happy to hear Rundas's Theme make an appearance, as it's a personal favourite that I feel a lot of people sleep on. Anyway, thanks again for this incredible performance!

The outfit was a nice surprise for sure and looks really good! Did you make it yourself? I'm definitely not as familiar with Metroid music than I am with Zelda music haha but this was very enjoyable to listen to! Hahaha thank you so much!!! You got most of those, I think you split one of the longer songs into two haha. The one two songs after Ridley is a title theme from Prime 2, which I don't think plays in the Wii trilogy version which we both play XD And no, I can't sew or craft haha I just bought the costume. I wish I had the time and energy to learn! Maybe one day

Haha XD well I was just thinking of recording a longer version of Kraids lair and doing a Metroid themed stream on twitch so I guess I could bring the outfit back!
