They absolutely took the original as a direct reference but the animation in the new one is much snappier, cartoonish and feels more Disney. Amazing glow-up if you ask me. Plus the rendering and lighting and such is just insane
I love how the shading and physics for the Paint, Thinner, and blot are more realistic, and how the Shadow Blot actually looks as scary as he’s supposed to be rather than just looking like another toon that just so happens to resemble a demon.
@@l3g0b0y6 I don't think Storm Blot exists in the actual game, it would've been the final form of the Shadow Blot after Oswald sided with it to get revenge presumably. I think it goes Phantom Blot>Shadow Blot>Storm Blot.
I really like how they aren’t just porting it as it was, the animation looks more clean along with adding some more stuff like dashing and groundpound (as said on the developers website)
Eh 50/50 while yes this is from Disney, the truth is that we should thanks the developers of the game, who are actually more involved in the game than Disney
I think whats the most noticeable is the brush looking different, 2:43 is the most easy to tell, as in the rebrushed intro it seems the brush itself is darker, Wirh the wood handle being actually more thin than the original.
Time for the million dollar question: WHO caused the game's events? Mickey: Ruining Wasteland The Mirror (yes, I know): Allowing Mickey to go through it in the first place Yen Sid: Not fixing Wasteland for decades (and not locking up the brush, paint, thinner)
Technically Mickey caused it, the mirror didn’t exactly know what Mickey was going to do and Yen Sid refused to fix it. Which doesn’t mean he caused it, just means he never fixed it. Mickey was the start of it though
@@OfficialKirbyTrue, but Yen Sid's A WIZARD. BRO CREATED IT, AND I KNOW THAT HE DIDNT MESS IT UP (i'm looking at u, mouse) BUT WHY MAKE SOMETHING AND NOT FIX IT?!
2:02 I like that they added the glow to the brush and Yensid kinda like extinguished it where as in the Wii version it looked like it didn’t do anything. I also love all the lighting and other effects on the Switch version. It gives it more oomph.
I did not notice any animation differences until seeing them side-by-side, which really shows that they definitely redid it from scratch. I thought they got the original animation file and added upscaled textures, new assets, all that sort of stuff, but nope.
Yeah. Throughout the cutscene, Mickey’s animations in the remaster are a bit more snappy. In that he briefly stops after one movement before going into the next. For instance, when he runs away, he leaps off the chair, lands, then pushes off into a run like he’s sprinting. In the original, he scurries away as soon as he lands.
They should fix part 2 next. 2 felt rushed and was unfinished. I'd Grab Warren Spector and fix it with his intended vision. Then they can start developing part 3 with him and finish the trilogy.
I'd honestly prefer seeing Epic Donald, which have had a lot of concept art and some prototype/beta footage come out over the years. Looked pretty cool.
I like how the opening cutscene on the switch version feels like an actual opening towards a horror game, because my only complaint of when I used to play this game years ago, was that it was not scary enough to meet the expectations of a horror game in my opinion, I hope that the actual game will also feel like a horror game.
When the Blot goes through the vortex and drags the Thinner bottle into Wasteland, the scrapped “Wonderland” area is completely destroyed. Why in the remaster then, is the vortex and mess of thinner so massive, that Dark Beauty Castle is practically destroyed on the model? And yet, it’s still standing mostly intact when Mickey’s dragged into Wasteland proper.
@@brendanstephens2575 He just didn't know how to mind his own business. He had to get in there and make it his art 🎨 ..The touch of Mickey . I guess he wanted to be come the next Mickeylangelo 😂
I remember playing it on my Wii when I was 12 but I didn't really make it that far because there was one part that I kept getting stuck on and didn't know where to turn and I eventually gave up on it haven't played it since
I like it but there are aspects of the Wii version I like better, I feel like the Wii version looks more like the mickey cartoons and I didn’t really like some of the color changes in the switch version.
The remake trailer are not "switch graphics" just pre-rendered cutscenes custom built to showcase the best portrayal possible as a way to fool people into buying said version thinking it will look like this upon launch Remember trailers have several versions built for them yet only the best ones are showcased to sell people on
Wait the WII cutscene is so messed up, when the thinner bottle empties on the map the bottle neck shrank and even worse when we look at the map for the last time we see a strange pattern on it instead of the park on the switch.
🎨 I would have definitely preferred Epic Mickey 3 instead of a remake of Epic Mickey. But I guess this a hint saying epic Mickey 3 will be coming out eventually 🎨
so glad people will see this game in other plataforms. i love wii, this is my fav game of wii by FAR (i mean i love M GALAXY 1 too but i still preffer EM 1)
@DonovanRXG If this one does well, then we might get the 2nd one. If they are remaking the 1st, they could do the same for the 2nd one. I've never played both games, but I heard the 2nd one was awful and has issues...
@@alpha-boss I've only gotten through, like 3 parts of it and never finished it, so if you're looking for a review about the 2nd game, u got the wrong guy
@DonovanRXG I'm not looking for a review. I can easily youtube It, but I want to know from the 3 parts you've played. Did you notice technical problems?
Too be honest this is one of the times I wish they kept the original cutscene don’t get me wrong the new one looks good. Good graphics but lost some of the charm and expressiveness Mickey looked more angry in the part he was ripping the ink off him and kicking it way in the original while in the new one he just looks like a sad mouse not ready to kick the shit outta any ops . Here are some parts I think looked better in the original (this is based off mickeys model and his expressions I believe the way the eyes the eyebrows especially make him look more cooler and expressive it was giving sonic) 2:45 - 2:58 3:02 - 3:31 4:42 - 4:58
Every time I see a remake, it always knocks out the original’s style. Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe, Metroid Prime: Remastered, Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door HD and now Epic Mickey: Rebrushed. I thought these games looked great before but wow did this remake lit Epic Mickey so much.
Mickey look more cuter in the Wii version because of the white eyeshine he has on he's eyes, the fact that they removed it makes him kinda disturbing to stare at (Specially in gameplay)
I remember playing this game back when I was a little kid! I feel like I remember this opening looking just as good as the new remastered one! But I guess I may have just remembered it like that since well... actuallly idk how to explain why...
One feature I would love cause we know there is gonna be new abilities , is original epic Mickey controls or where we can like revert to the original graphics for even more nostalgia, I know it’s a lot to ask for but would be a cool little detail
