I was born and raised in Qingdao, but living in Paris now. Just saw this video and it brought back so many childhood memories. I must say that Garen is such a great tour guide and I'm so happy that Amy is visiting my hometown!! I miss my family and friends still living in Qingdao and I hope to see them again soon! And I definitely miss the ribs on the rice... or any Qingdao food!!

Prawn shells contain Chondroitin which is supposed to be good for joints. I often eat prawns with shells for my arthritic knees.

Miss, you may like to try a great local food that I saw once online, I think it is somewhere in Tengzhou, Shandong. Not sure what the name is, but it looks like jianbing. It has lots of vegetables insides, or you can choose what you like to have, look it up. You may like it.

I've actually been to the breakfast place for the seafood guotie earlier this year in june, I love qingdao's marriage of seafood and wheat based carbs, i.e. seafood dumplings, wontons, baozi, etc. I also recommend you to try rib (deboned) and pea baozi.
