The Sand Dunes across from Cape Town, South Africa were awesome. The views were so beautiful, and the sandboarding was such a blast. We have never tried sandboarding before and all of us loved it.
The Atlantis Sand Dunes at Witzands Aquifer Nature Reserve is a perfect place to learn how to sandboard. It is only about 45 minutes away from Cape Town and has some spectacular views. There are multiple sand dunes you can board down, starting with a pretty easy hill to get used to balancing on the board. Just on the other side of the dune is a pretty steep hill where you can test how good you really are. We all mastered that, so we went to an even higher and harder hill. It was such a blast. Even JoeJoe and Grace got to ride a board. Our guides were awesome to help them so much.
