This is the first of 5 videos for alto sax, the other 4 will show you how to improvise with the Epic Sax Guy backing tracks. See the link www.newburysax...
Yeah, he changed the ending a bit. Instead of "B B D E D", what you're supposed to play Ii "B B C# D E" then loop back to the beginning. He changed it due to simplicity sake since a single c# would be one extra note for begginers
@@Benny46drift After playing sax for 5 years, I would say It is a rough start. I would learn basics, and try to form your Embouchure before playing this; but if you have around a month, or two into playing the sax I would try to play this. He makes it sound amazing because of his tone. Good luck on your adventure my friend and stay epic!
@@bigbugman3226 so far I can play parts of… ain’t no sunshine, when the saints, SantaClaus is coming to town, swing low sweet chariots and I’m now practicing Careless whisper. Baby steps I know, thanks for the encouragement, I struggle with getting sore throat glands not sure if it’s connected at all
@@Benny46drift I must say, you're on a swell start! If you struggle with Coordination, want to help your playing range, or even just want a warm up I would try scales! Take a go at the Chromatic scale! It looks intimidating; but if you have any alto Music theory book just play from no Octave G to high Octave G. It took me a few weeks to try and play it, but you can start with many more depending on your skill, and comfort level. Scales are just an over all win to have tucked away and if you get bored of scales try the Long Tones warm up. I know this was long, but its always nice trying to help a fellow sax player. Remain epic my friend! Sincerely, BigBugMan
Hi Joeman. being a beginner your fingers are note quite putting the keys down firmly as you blow. It could also be that you don’t have enough muscle in your embouchure and your bottom teeth are touching the Reed.
