I've always been an advocate of introducing new RTA mechanics/frenzy to change up the meta rather than straight up nerfing units. I think ban protections is a step in the right direction - it allows us to guarantee a counterpick against our opponents. Counterpicks are strong, but having to pick two or three of them against your opponent, in fear of a ban, risks your overall team composition. Time will tell though.
You can also do more funny plays because of this. I'm guessing there are MANY team comps that never worked in the past because the most critical unit was always going to get banned. For example you can lock in ML Ken or ML Purgis thus allowing you to draft a proper support team AROUND them, and FORCE your opponent to counter pick instead of ignoring them by just banning them. That's a game changer.
@@babyitsnatural It's massive. I don't know what the long term will look like, but we're already starting to see drafting change entirely because of this. I'm kinda digging it.
That ban protection allow the possibility of testing specifics units also. And the great part is you can complete a safe GvG like style of Dps Mitigation Sustain 👍
@@ouricon39 I mean, that's true of any rank. Draft matters more now than ever. Even in the last two seasons, draft was arguably more important than the match itself.
Next RTA gonna be really fun to see how people draft man, I love this sh.t greatest idea they ever had, that new balance team and new team in general is doing wonders for e7
I stopped taking in any sort of rta content for 3 months and the meta is all sorts of crazy now. It's always good to come back to azallea for some rta content when I'm two metas behind. Keep up the good work
my favorite protected unit is ml laika/straze when cleave, laia, a really strong anchor, or a counterpick. I could even transition from picking standard units to cleave like a zio/ran 3rd pick, this is just fun and many ways to experiment
ban protection will turn the game easier. most people basicaly expose their plans by stucking around the 3rd unit and you can use this against them by ruining this play (you dont need to "draft two cleansers in case one gets banned or mages for souls) aside from the fact of the less options to ban, the easier the choice will be (take Ice creams for exemple, you will take less time choosing between 3 flavors than between 15)
I understand what you're getting at, but I wouldn't necessarily say it will make the game easier. This change arguably increases the amount of strategy needed to play effectively. It also notably puts more emphasis on building larger rosters of niche units for counter play.
It's totally planned out to reward my viewers for watching to the end. LOL just kidding. No idea, it just happens sometimes! Maybe my brain is fried from the previous matches, so I start drafting like an idiot.
Sounds like an awful idea... 99% of the time you'll just end up killing a squishy unit on lhc s3 and proccing bmh for free, then he just onetaps lhc on his next turn right after...
A player need to have 70/80% of the game units to be able to counter pick his opponents in RTA, I wonder if it was just a normal matchmaking where you make your team and Q up for battles without that "you pick this I counter pick with this shenanigans" not everyone has counters for everything
Don't think too linearly with the ban protection. You can fight counters head-on with the right teams! You saw how I won against the DK Sharun despite having DDR.
Hey everyone i wanna build an account based on tank down play style im f2p and not that experienced can anyone tell me how i should progress my account
