In this video I tare down Bears bike. It had a basic 80cc motor on it and I replace it with a custom built CDH110 85cc iron sleeve motor with a 52mm bore. It runs great but to get it there I had to do a lot of work. I replace every cable and other major Mr component to achieve this. At the end of the video Bear Akamai comes by and picks it up and is happy as he could be with the build and choice of parts.

Thanks brother, I love the new mic. It really helps pick up the sound much better. I am thinking about make a few videos about what I do when porting motor and all that goes into it but make them much shorter and in great detail about each step. This way if someone asks I can send a link or someone can google that exact thing they are trying to to do and get just that info and not all the other info. Your doin very good with your channel, I think your going to to be a large name in the space sooner then later. You make good edits and don’t keep in a lot of boring things. I hate when others make videos and record everything but don’t cut out walking to get a screw or idk just anything that isn’t about what they are doin to keep the progress moving forward in the project.

@JMB676 I would love to see you make a porting series with lots of detail. I would rewatch the crap out of them! Thank you very much! I'm finding that it's harder to keep up with the video editing because my son is getting older but I'm still enjoying the process 😌 😎. That means a lot to me!

@JMB676

Yes I had one in backwards from factory when I first started and it kinda ran but poor and it took me forever to figure it out. I was hoping this video would give good insight about what to look for to the newer guys and even the guys that been in it to just stop and think to look at the simple stuff. Cause I am very guilty of this myself and just thinking “well it has to be a bigger issue cause I built it and I know what I’m doin”. So hopefully this just helps a bunch of people.

No bro, my mag was on correct it lost its magnetism. I overheated the entire engine climbing a canyon road tring to get back to my camp ( I was homeless at the time) and I had a 12 pack of beer in my backpack so the poor saw overheated and yet I kept going even though it lost most of its power. I barely made it to my camp before I killed the engine. The next morning with my hangover nonetheless I went to start it and nothing. So I took the cylinder off and it was coated in aluminum from the piston expanding so much from the excessive heat I imposed on it wanting to get back asap to have a dang beer. Heat destroys magnets that's my lesson learned. Life lessons aren't fun at all lol!

@@kenyonchugg7570 you know that’s a great point that I definitely forgot till right now. I been thinking my daily jokester has been down on power lately and when it was newer it would get pretty hot and the last time I thought it had it’s normal power was the day I was riding it crazy for fun but I went to the mailbox but literally had it WOT FOR 22ish minutes straight then got the mail so it sat cooling for about 3 ish minutes then went home and had it at WOT the entire way home too just having fun and on the way home it felt like it was way less power and ever since. I was thinking maybe it’s just getting tired cause of all the miles but heating the magnet up like that could have taken some of its force away for sure and cause a weaker spark for sure and in turn make way less power now. Wow that’s a great comment brother cause I was def over thinking about it and this def copy be the reason since I have had real OZ could with a very strong spark and having a good spark is like night and day for these lil motors. And the mag is directly responsible for making that spark. Damn bro you totally got me thinking now, thanks brother I really appreciate it. I always enjoy talking with you. Cause we always got similar thought and ideas and problems. Good looks.

johnnie want to try a experiment ? get yourself two rare earth magnets . drill a hole in a magneto magnet on both sides of it just big enough for the magnets to set in flush . make sure the magnetic fields go in same direction of course . then put a little bit of two part epoxy in the holes and drop the magnets in . rare earth magnets are super strong and might increase the out put of electricity .
@kenyonchugg7570
@kenyonchugg7570 3 месяца назад
I like that idea alot.
@JMB676
@JMB676 3 месяца назад
Actually I saved this magnet so I could take it all the way apart and I want to rebuild it with neo, Damian magnets to increase the field so it throws a harder spark and if that works and I can get it right then I’m goin to start doing it to all my bikes motors. Cause a stronger spark 1000% makes more power.

Johnny 20 years ago I made my own ignition system with fat blue spark for testing of advance and retard timing on a mot bike . I took everything off and put a 6 volt coil and a 7.2 volt rc car battery and removed the china doll magnet and coil I made my own cam for shaft put a pin in a washer and put on set of points and condenser. I experimented with advancing and retarding timing and no real change in performance But if I advanced it too far the bike would start then go backwards. Been motorcycle mechanic since 14 at Yamaha shop and the DT2 175 had mech advancer in magneto but most 2 strokes it is not as critical as 4 strokes.

I never had one yet, I think they can be solid and stock make good power and I think there’s a lot left in the tank. Actually I would love to get my hands on one to port and try one day. It comes with a oylin or yd100 case and they are solid. But that’s cool your getting a pallet, how many come in a pallet?

Oh, how much time did it take you from removing to start up of that engine, including port work approx. I'm thinking like 10 hours?
@JMB676
@JMB676 3 месяца назад
It was about a four day project maybe five, it’s hard to remember now. But to start to stop on a full port job which take apart and assembly of motor it takes about 8 hours for bigger job and maybe 3 ish for basic port job, but I mean basic. The Minarelli took me about 16hours straight but that was very precise porting I did there plus its iron and takes longer.

I've done a couple steel sleeved jugs. Not only was it a slower process for me, I learned what color bits to use and don't burn my carbide on steel! Doi I'm not to bright either. I did gradjiat. From the school of hard knocks with a C*- lol
@JMB676
@JMB676 3 месяца назад
@@MotorizedChuck lol, but yeah in minis or iron sleeves you just gotta use less force and let the bit do all the work and keep good control of the bits speed so as not to get it to hot and that is what kills the bits sharpness. I only use carbide bits for the port no matter the material I’m porting. But always finish exhaust ports with sanding barrels and polish wheels. But the other ports I show in videos is always just carbide bite work. I have tried very hard to get good at it cause I think it speaks to the quality work you do and I have seen some crazy bad looking work for other builders that are talked about as good and they talk about their work as good and I thought if I did that myself and said that about the work I would be embarrassed. So I take great bride in my port jobs looks, and it only comes from practice and screwing up A LOT. So best advice I could give it just go slow and let the tools do the work cause pushing hard always messes it up for me. I hope you post some of your work in the group I enjoy seeing others work and what they are doing to their bikes and motors.

And if it is broken a lot of the times you can easily fix it yourself depending on what it is, I had a carburetor arrive with a crack in the top throttle cable cap part, I just took the open cap off my old carb and put it on the new one and it worked fine.
