Hi Jacqueline- Good to hear stats are in recovery mode. You work so hard and so diligently. I hope all continues to improve. I’m back from my latest short solo trip (spring break is very late this year.) I stayed at Riv in my second ground floor room in a row. It’s really not that pleasant. There was even a rat trap in front of my patio. Riv really owes me after these two trips! Oh well, leverage for when I take my mother for her 80th birthday trip in two years! The parks were very pleasant. I think the vast majority of kids are in school. Only a few rides had wait times too long for my patience. Even Star Wars Rise of the Resistance was only 35 minutes! But I found the parks themselves very pleasant to be in without very large crowds. Overall, a good trip. No signature dining this time. Primo Piatti is so nice it doesn’t feel necessary to do TS all the time, especially when I’m alone. A croque monsieur and a salad is ideal for me. The Greek salad is also delicious. I won’t be back at Riv for well over a year. Upcoming trips will be AKV and SSR. I’m saving Riv points for a family trip in summer 2025 and my mother’s birthday trip the following February. Just out of curiosity, is your spring break anchored to Easter or similar? Cause wow, yes, very late! A RAT TRAP. Stop. Oh my god. WOW. I am actually speechless lol. I guess better than that uh a bunch of rats but like WOW. 35 minutes for Rise though, that's awesome! You hit the jack pot. Apparently very late spring break has its perks. Very exciting line up of future trips. The hoarding points thing for bigger family stuff is new to me, and I'm finding mentally difficult lol. I am just too selfish I think. (I kid a bit, I mean I'm making it work to take my family, but I'm like DANG that's a lot of points I could spend on a LOT more nights in a studio.) How many total points do you have, btw? Do you find stashing some away for family stuff difficult? You're probably considerably more selfless than I am, tbh haha you have very strong good vibes Haha yes, we went to a Colorado Rockies game (MLB). Just for fun! My partner and I both really enjoy baseball so sometimes a game is a good excuse for a little weekend away.
@@PixieDustPhD Spring break in NYC is pegged to Passover, so it can be anywhere from late March to late April. I think this is the very latest it can be, though. We go back Wednesday, May 1, which seems crazy. We’ll have only two months left. So now I have 160 AKV points, 100 SSR and 200 Riv, so that’s 460. It’s hard to think of them in total because of the three different home resorts, two UYs and, of course, the Riv restrictions-my points don’t play nicely with each other. But it’s definitely enough for me to get what I want. I’ll definitely have to bank the Riv points to get three studios for five nights in August 2025 and a one-bedroom in Feb. 2026. Those are splurges and well worth it to me. The other contracts will cover my solo trips (I think I’ve given up on finding a friend to travel with!) One more day in Florida! Thanks, Jacqueline!
I am glad you brought up Epic Universe! I knew it was happening but am not especially eager to go. Mostly that’s because I assume it won’t be walkable from the other two gates (I should probably look that up) and one of the things I really like about universal is how easy it is to navigate (and plan, if you stay at a hotel with fast pass). Plus it’ll mean higher cost. However, now that you talk it up I’m starting to get excited. I need to go watch the videos you referenced! 😅
I am pretty certain you're right. Or I mean it's "walkable" but it'd be far, for sure, nothing like the current experience of going from Studios to Islands. But the hotels down by Epic will be close to Epic (I think I talked about the Value level hotels in this vid, those will still be a bus I'm pretty sure, but they're building the Helios Grand Hotel that will be basically AT the theme park, who knows how many dollars that will be though). But yes, I'm sure it'll drive costs up, you're totally right. And uh I'm privileged enough to not care about that too much and just be super hyped!
Hi Jacqueline, I am also very interested in the upcoming Epic Universe park. The video Universal sent out looked very impressive! I have even been looking into the points swap at The DVC rental store for Universal Orlando, just have to wait to see how many DVC points it will take to book once Epic Universe opens.
That's smart. Crowds are going to be so rough. I doubt I'll wait that long, just because I'm so excited for it haha. I'll probably wait 6 months - 1 year, but I know crowds will still be really rough!
