In this video I go over how to replace the dyneema cord on an Epic V10 surfski.
To replace the cord you will need 8 meters of dyneema cord, you can get this from any sailing shop, I got mine from Revo Kayaks, and it was an exact match to what was in my EPIC.
You'll also need sharp scissors and painter's tape.
What you will need
Dyneema 8m
Sharp scissors
Painter's tape
I also go over replacing the foot peddle slider.
A common issue with the aluminium slider is that the foot strap holds salt water, and over the years the corrosion caused by the salt on the aluminium eats away at the aluminium, compromising the strength of the foot strap slider. The rail itself is normally not effected.
The tools needed for this job is simply a screw driver and a spanner.
If you're only going top be replacing the cable, then the job is actually pretty quick. The foot plate slider was fiddley and took a bit of time.

03:41 Replace foot plate slider
04:41 Foot plate slider corrosion
05:23 Foot plate assembly
06:40 Restring foot plate
10:05 Rudder and foot plate adjustment
It's worth noting that although some manufacturers use the same slider mechanism, they all fit them in different ways, so what you see in this video won't be the same for all skis.
These craft when well used spend allot of time in salt water, there for it's good practice to check and maintain your craft regularly.
