I've been to Punakaiki 4 times, but I did not know about the cavern - thank you! That zipline wasn't installed when I was last there... could be good (better than the walk, anyway! 😅)
Ahh yeah that cavern is a couple hundred metres from the town of Punakaiki on the main road. They are currently building a new visitor centre there actually, I’m sure there will be a lot more to see and experience there soon. There’s a hike near there too, I think it’s one of NZ’s Great Walks. As well as that there seems to be quite a few new accommodation options in town too!
