Man, speaking of their acoustic stuff, they're completely one of a kind! For the past 3 albums (TQE, THP and Omega) and the gold edition of DYU, they released acoustic versions of some of the songs! They sound completely different! They also changed the song titles Universal Death Squad being Universal Love Squad, Cosmic Algorithm being Funky Algorithm, Abyss of Time being Abyss O'time, Code of Life being El Codigo Vital (Spanglish version) and many more! You should check the versions of the songs, back to back! You'll be mindblown as to how diverse and how the band members are so adept in making these arrangements! Even the brutal song, "Martyr of the Free Word" has been revamped into a ballad! Same with Unleashed! They are music virtuoso through and through. Love this!
3ONstage was a radio program by a Dutch broadcasting company. Pinkpop was one of the first large scale European Popfestivals, where in the '70's and '80's practically all the big bands (except the Stones I believe) have played. Iconic are for instance the images of Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam crowd surfing at Pinkpop in 1992 where he jumped of a camera boom into the audience (it is on RU-vid). Later on Pinkpop became a bit more mainstream, but it is still a great popfestival which every year draws about 60.000 people (could be more but nowadays the local government won't allow more). What you see here is one of the side activities that they always have at Pinkpop (like in most Popfestivals of course), and I think that Epica also played on the mainstage later that night.
Epica at The Orchard, might be the most scaled down epica preformence i ever seen. One guitar and Simone (and she have no microphone), maby 10 persons behind the camera. Still amazing singing by simone. Love that a band with such huge sound still do smaler things.
Pinkpop is a big Dutch pop festival which is traditionally supported by radio station 3FM. They have a small stage and room for a very limited crowd inside what is basically a sea freight container and they use that to record short acoustic sessions of usually three songs with the artists that play on the festival. How you get inside? By joining the queue and hoping to be lucky! I was lucky once, saw Queens Of The Stone Age there!
Also, the second song they played here is the acoustic live performance of the recent EPICA song you've checked out. It's called NATURAL CORRUPTION. The first song that was played here was DREAMSCAPE. Both songs are from Quantum Enigma album. They have studio versions of these acoustic songs as well (Natural Corruption, Dreamscape, In All Conscience and Canvas of Life).

Dude, did you recognize those songs? The first song in this set is Dreamscape. There are two versions on the album, one of them is acoustic. You've already reacted to original versions of Storm The Sorrow and Natural Corruption before, just not sure if you remember the melodies. I think you've only done a lyric video for Natural Corruption. Make sure you watch the Aftermovie version too. Yes, they have many acoustic versions of their metal songs. See the post from "simp eradicator" which mentions some of them, not all. I would also add Feint, which is their first ballad (2003) and also exists as an acoustic live version (2004). It's a beautiful though very sad song. If you want to watch it, make sure you find a new re-upload (remastered in full HD), not the old 240p video.

Pinkpop is a huge festival in the Netherlands, 3 on stage/3 voor12 was a radio show on a radio station, this was recorded in sea containers and some other band performed in that same setting, sadly they dont do that anymore. Epica has more acoustic works online on YT, also from Omega alive (2 songs).
Yes! Epica acoustic is so beautiful and if it is one of their heavier songs they totally change the feel of the song. I have a new band for you! And not only for you but most likely most if not everyone in here. "Sick N' Beautiful - My Wounds" They have been around for a while but their audio production have sucked (visuals have always been awesome though) and therefore they have been mostly under radar.
