The Matrix movie is an obvious assumption, but it isn't about that. Guitarist Mark Jansen said this about it: “Despite the title, this isn’t about the movie! It’s basically about being able to see that you’re in a matrix, to see that you’re in a cage. It’s hard to be able to see beyond your immediate surroundings when you’re trapped so you have to project yourself outside the matrix to understand." There's only a few videos from the Zenith. When you come back to them, I think the daughter(s) will like 'The Skeleton Key' at the 2021 Omega Alive virtual show, especially the end with a children's choir.

Hey Dad and Daughter... great reaction. Love Epica as well, really great band, also live!! I saw you had some great suggestions for other songs from Epica, so I don't bother you with that. But I want to suggest another Dutch band to you, called Blackbriar. Also symphonic metal, but maybe a bit more 'gothic' or 'dark'. They have lots of great songs like; Preserved Roses, Weakness and Lust, The Séance, Mortal Remains and many more. You really should check one of those!!! 😊😊🙂

This is a great song. I don’t like the growling though. Epica is one of the great Dutch metal bands. Within Temptation. After Forever. Simone Simons sings on many Ayreon albums and in the second live concert: the electric castle live and other tales.
