Probably one of the most underrated albums ever, songs like Monopoly On Truth, Serenade Of Self-Destruction or Deter The Tyrant are absolute masterpieces, and don't even get me started on Delirium, one of the greatest ballads ever. Love this album ❤ And hope that we get a deluxe edition with that jazzy version of Storm The Sorrow one day !
@@scarlett01 Yes !! I was literally about to mention this one too but I thought that it would be a lot of songs to mention 😂 But this one is probably the most underrated Epica track ever in my opinion
Almost all of these músicas were played during the tournee of this cd. Do you remember of Retrospect and Wacken show with Simone pregnant? There are more musics of this CD (Serenade of self destruction, monopoly of true, for example).
I understand that it is an album not very appreciated by fans, mainly because it is an experimental album sonically. But it deserves more appearances on Epica's setlists. They only play Storm The Sorrow at shows. After TQE album, RFTI became a forgotten album even by the band. This album I like a lot more than the current one (Omega)
Most underrated Epica album. Love Serenade of Self Destruction, Avalanche, Monopoly on Truth and Internal Warfare!!! ❤ anyway it needs a new production and I must say a new recording.
One of my fav album from Epica, i really love how the choir sounds, and i like that it sounds a bit different, even the vocal lignes. Best parts : Delirium is a gem, Monopoly Of Truth (5.55 to the end), the operatic part in avalanch, and storm the sorrow is really fun to sing.
I really had a hard time to get along with it. Dont kbow why but the sound, songwriting, production, vocals..everything seems so different from the other albums. But every now and i deeply fall in love with it
Great album from a great Symphonic Heavy Metal Band. There isn't much else today other than some of the many SHM bands that are more popular with people of all ages.
My ranking of the songs: 15. Anima 14. Karma 13. Guilty Demeanor 12. Stay the Course 11. Deter the Tyrant 10. Internal Warfare 9. Nostalgia 8. Twin Flames 7. Deep Water Horizon 6. Requiem for the Indifferent 5. Avalanche 4. Delirium 3. Storm the Sorrow 2. Monopoly on Truth 1. Serenade of Self-Destruction
I have to say I was never interested in any Epica album until the release of The Quantum Enigma. I became instantly in love. In my opinion, their last three albums are their absolute best and amongst the genre's best. I did go back and listened to all of their discography, and RFTI is the one I liked the least, alongside with The phantom agony. Design your universe is right after the aforementioned triad. But, this is Epica we are talking about. Their weakest albums are most bands' best.
I will always prefer the soundtrack version of Twin Flames, a calmer ballad that closes the album much better, this regular version doesn't go down well.
I used to skip this album while getting to go through discography, and it was wrong decision. several songs are like over the top - deter the tyrant, requiem, storm the sorrow and ofcourse Monopoly on Truth (without growls though).
When it was released I used to listen to it a lot, even if it was not my favorite one, but after this one, the 3 next albums shadowed this one. Anyway I love at least the half of songs
That was just a mistake that happened when the first released CDs- they included the instrumental version of the song. So Serenade was released for everyone to listen to in full and later prints of the CDs include the entire song.
i would consider myself eloquent your shit rocks like Conan played the soundtrack for revenge of the 300 sith with Valkyries singing backup im sure i forgot something
Storm the sorrow Delirium Serenade of self-destruction Twin flames That's unfortunately all I like from this album. Although all the other 7 albums contain almost all the favorite songs. So for me this album ended up in last place in the Epica album rankings. But I'll still give him a chance of course
