This song was one of my favorites in their Symfonic Synergy show. Another one was Arcana, hoping that will be their next music video. Always a treat when Epica makes music outside their usual sound. 😁
This is an amazing collaboration between Epica and Dutch themepark Efteling for the promotion of their new attraction Danse Macabre, which opens next week. The video is shot in the Danse Macabre actually.
This is an interpretation of the classic by Camille Saint-Saëns - "Danse Macabre" and is dedicated to the famous amusement park Efteling in the Netherlands (you can see it in this video). The release of this song was at the last concert with the orchestra and it was very cool and very artistic
They played this one live with a full orchestra . The Efteling is a dutch attraction park with rollercoasters and lots of other attractions based on fairytales. One of the attractions was the hounted castle. Last parr was a show with the music danse mascabre. Graven were dancing on the music etc. The Efteling build a nrw attraction on the place were the hounted castle was. They asked Epica to make a promotion video for the opening of the new attraction. Epica made a song The ghost in me . If you liste to the music from the hauned house you can hear they used it and wrote a new song with lyrics
This was filmed on location at the Effling theme park in the Netherlands. A place full of elves, ghouls, and set in a gothic park.. A must go to place for Dutch kids.
Dance Macabre is a symphonic poem written by Saint-Saëns that Epica took as basis for this new song. Very "Halloweenesque" (good timing by the way). I liked it very much, it's true that is not the typical Epica sound but they are also very diverse. This next new album (probably lunched early 2025, but few singles likes this will be released before I'm sure) is quite promising. P.S. Simone has shared several times that she loves creepy and Hallowing things :) Cheers!
