wow, great acoustics, with a little bit of an echo.

Cami Serrano thats because the seats arent full of people, they would dampen the echo. Every part of that design is as perfect as you can get. The step and seat height and stone density makes a difference as well as the curvature and angle of the audience.

Theater provided much more than "entertainment," especially in ancient Greece. In Athens, the state actually paid people to watch plays, so they could be better educated and participate in the fledgling ideas about democracy. Theater provided education and healing, as it does now. Everyone should stop what they're doing and book some tickets to see a live performance on stage in a theater nearby, someday soon. There's no better medicine for what ails us, aside from perhaps hiking in the mountains.
