You have such a nice place! I’m applying for EPIK now & would love a loft style apartment 🤞🏽I wonder if the reason so many people leave items behind is because they’re leaving the country and/or it’s just difficult to get rid of that stuff with all the trash and recycling requirements.
yeah honestly i think it's both but esp the trash part,, you have to call a service to pick up your bigger trash so it's kinda a drag!! most people sell it or give it away & some people just leave it for the next teacher!! i'm happy she left all the stuff for me though because i didn't have to furnish my apt + i had all the pantry staples :)
How nice that your first apartment was literally turnkey. I'm a new viewer and I thank you for documenting your experience. Your personality shines and I wish you well.
just so everyone knows, 1. its really hard to get placed in Seoul, and 2. there is like 1 in 50 chance your apartment will look like this i got placed in the countryside (like 10 minutes away from Daejeon, so not awful honestly), and my place doesnt look ANYTHING like this. whats more, ive seen other EPIK teachers places, not just my province, ive seen teachers who are placed in big cities as well. most people will have a villa style, not an apartment complex like this. (i got lucky with this actually and got an apartment complex, but from talking to other teachers, even this is rare.) I've just been seeing all these "korea apartment tours" on youtube and i have to wonder if the only people who post are the ones who got lucky with housing lol. I'm at school rn actually, so i had to watch without sound, so idk if this person got the housing stipend and picked their own place (which if you don't alreadly live here, you cant choose this option.), but that's sort of the only guaranteed way to not get fucked over lmao
i didn't pick my own place i just got lucky with housing haha but yes i mentioned my place was bigger than most (with a much higher utility bill as well rip) & for that i was v grateful!! idk if its just seoul but most of the people i talked to also lived in officetels/apartment complexes though :o
I had two friends who had an offictel style apartment in Daejeon. One had a loft and the other one didn’t but it was still modern and had the shower. And the girl in the video already said that the native teacher found this apartment and took the stiped instead
hi! your apt is so cute 🥹 i’m joining epik for spring 2024 and got my seoul preference (yay!) i was wondering what area of seoul u were placed in? (rlly hoping for an apt this cute n spacious)
