Admittedly, the recording volume is terrible, and I apologize for that. I also wasn't fond of some of the settings that were used. Very soon, I will do a second comparison video with my friends.
Definitely a slightly edgier, hotter PAF-type tone. They aren't bad guitars at all, especially if you want a quality but barebones work horse. I will say, regardless as to what others say, aside from the poly finish on the Epi, the dimensions between both Standards are very, very close, and I daresay damned near even identical. The Epi Standard is very good for the money, and not at all a lesser guitar than the Tribute. At least in my opinion. My practicing is done on my Epi primarily, but aside from the nitrocellulose, the necks feel the same in my hand and the weight is relatively the same. Only the binding and fret nibs really stand out along the neck and fretboard. Sound is mostly pretty close, even.
So I own a Gibson tribute it’s technically a Gibson but feels cheap knowing that 1,200 bucks isn’t cheap but the pick ups are to dark when I’m playing through my jubilee mini head. The weight relief isn’t my bag. So I’m thinking of selling it today to get a epiphone Les Paul custom in the black in gold
@@jessetate9701 I personally think you’ll be more than satisfied. Originally, I wanted a Black Beauty Custom, but settled for the ‘60s Burst. The Custom is about $50 more before taxes, with a few other appointments, so I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. I’m certainly not.
@@dionysusthemadgod yea I think lll be more happier as well. Like I said if I didn’t know any better I would think the tribute series is a Chinese made fake Gibson or that could be my opinion lol 😂 I enjoy 60s 70s blues rock to the southern rock bands but I enjoy kiss, ufo, Aerosmith, the list can go on
I'm confused. Do you spin your toggle switches upside down? If so why? Otherwise you've got your pickups confused. Counter to what you're both saying. neck is up, bridge is down on every LP I've ever seen. I am curious though. Is the carve on that Tribute shallower than on the Standards? It looks flatter than even 70s Norlin LPs on this vid.
The toggle switches are how they should be. They came from the factory as is. Neck/Treble is down, Rhythm/Bridge is down. I don’t know much about the Tribute, but no, it is thinner, weight relieved, and I believe the carve is likely different.
Sorry, my mistake. I was under the impression the Neck was the Treble and the Bridge was Rhythm. I am, by no means, a guitarist. I literally just learned my 7 modes.
How can you do a good guitar comparison with all that crappy distortion on? Terrible demo of 2 very good guitars. I know they're very good because I've owned them both.
