This was an excellent review! Seems like a fantastic Epiphone release. I really like the pickups in the muse and of course the colors are wild. Really like how you do a test - especially how you go through the pickup combinations with a very consistent, straightforward riff. In fact I think it's the best I've seen. So now I'm in the market - maybe your green one will show up on a used guitar sales site.

My 2020 SG had that same issue on the binding. There were several high frets too. I had them fixed and the guitar is playing well.

Joe i bought one 6 mo ago im not thrilled with the color it was the only one they had pink but it dose play well.. my question is sustain i dident think the sustain was that good on mine, and im not sure how to set this guitar up .. thank you for you honest review any help would be great..

I just bought the Joe Bonamassa Norm Burst Epiphone. Have not opened the box yet because I wanna document the unboxing and initial play quality. I wanna pick up one of these Muse SGs too though.

Disagree, certainly keep the Epi headstocks for the Epi models but the Gibson style models just need to Squier up and match the book. Great playing, great review.

Got a pearl white SG Muse coming Fed Ex tomorrow - $20 off and 12 pay with no vig made it a no brainer. I had my "real" guitars stolen decades ago and after replacing some with newer albeit cheaper guitars I don't think I'm really missing much as far as that "vintage" BS. I have a $350 Classic Vibe Strat (squier) that is stupid good and hard to match at the $800 level; the Gretsch Electromatics are SICK at about $500 especially the Duo Jet one with a Bigsby on it. So, instead of putting down $1200 to $1700 on my old stolen SG - now beaten and dinged at Norms Rare Guitars (lol) well - I'm going with this Muse and going to see if it can fill the SG niche in my herd. At my age my brain is tapped so I figure my SG pups should be, too. 🎸

I enjoy your playing and sound man, playing like a slide player, for which Derek Trucks comes to mind. 😎 I like the SG fret access up and down the neck over that of the LP, I wish the SG had the LP Headstock and the SG Tuners as options on both models of the muse. I am gonna get myself one within the next couple days. I just gotta decide on the colour SG. I will slick the back of the neck up without using lubes, but maybe sand and polish the back of the neck finish into a satin finish. OMG man I cringe every time I see someone bend a set neck back and fourth, especially depends on the tilt back angle of the headstock. 😵 I got hit in the head by a neck that snapped because of whammying the neck. 🤭 I have a LP that I put one of those string trees on so that all the strings come out and away from the headstock straight out from the nut so the strings have no Hang ups in the nut slots issues, and they work great. I have heard that these guitars have high fret, buzzing issues, but I know you gotta play the wracks out and adjust the new guitars out and go from their. I can always send a guitar back and get another one if the neck has issues, especially with the frets. The neck and it's fretwork are the 1st and foremost of importance on any stringed instrument in the playing of such IMHO ! ! ! I got great fretwork guys and gals that I know and trust to get my axes to attain to their lowest possible no buzz playing action, because I can always change the action, string guages and setup intonation, especially to play slide or play in alternate tunings. Great review of the guitar! Do you know what's under the extra plastic piece between the neck pickup and the fretboard? Like would the guitar still look fine (except for the extra screw holes of course) if you took that piece off to make it look more like a normal SG, similar to like taking the pickguard off a Les Paul?

Great playing. Did you hold your pick like that before Chris Buck. Ha. My guitar teacher back in 1965 taught me to do that. Played a 1971 sg in the glory days, to me, this sounds better than les Paul muse. Great job.

I have strats, lps, a tele I was just wanting to get a sg to have the 4 body styles. I looked at the Muse at GC and since it was a new version I was hesitant to buy. Your vid made me really think about getting one , so did it holdup to your expectations....?

Funny thing you mention it being a modern SG without 24 frets, for about 500 you can get my axe of choice the SG Modern with 24 frets and locking tuners. But I want one of these babies too, they come in so many colors.

Thanks buddy. Great review. I did an impulse buy on Ebay. I bought my buddy the Scarlett red job. Looks tits! Has a 61' pickguard. This thing looks cool .My buddy just bought bar and I figured that he needed a new axe.

I bought a red Epi SG Muse because I tried the Epi Les Paul Muse but wanted to be able to reach all of the notes all the way up to the highest frets on every string & I already own a 1960s reissue Epi Les Paul Standard Maple Fade & wanted to get some different sounds. I really like the C shape neck & that the frets are slightly spaced closer together making it easier to play for my smaller female sized hands even in the 1st to 4th fret positions. On my Les Paul I tend to play not so much lower than the 3 & 4 frets because on chords, my smaller than male size hands, I can't reach some of the chords and I am forced to play mostly Barre chords instead of open chords. But I can do everything on my Epi SG Muse. They're not kid's size guitars but the Epi SG Muse & Epi Les Paul Muse are very women friendly play wise. Oh, & many of the colours are appealing to women and girls. One thing I would get for the Epi SG Muse is a strap that doesn't slid on your shoulder to keep the guitar from taking a nose dive because the head stock and neck are heavier than the body. I found this out when I played my Epi SG Muse in church. It was very distracting and caused me to loose concentration while playing. Buying a better strap with suede padding to stop the nose dive from happening ASAP.

I bought in almond gold I love it yes there’s things but that’s epiphone I love the jack on the side it not in the way The other is the show custom better quality I love it I love the both Prices 👍 they are worth it

Man you did your homework very well spoken now the shaft get a screwdriver and in between the shaft stick the screwdriver to widen the tip the knob should go in pretty snug

The Epiphone website says the tuners on the SG Muse are Epiphone Lightweight 3+3 18:1 but you said they were Grover tuners. Really doesn’t matter but I was curious
