I dig this. Honestly I have a lot a beef with the way Kierkegaard's been explained to me in the past, so I was looking for clarification on Kierkegaard's valuation of pre-christian philosophy but this is so much better because I am totally, 100% lost in the finite... I didn't even know. I was content to think of it as shadowboxing with potentiality but I see now the trap I've caught myself in... Thanks for making this video! I appreciate your engaging and animated diction.
That really made skyrocket my interest in Kierkegaard. Might someone tell me in which works Kierkegaard examines those notions of leap of faith, losing oneself in the (in)finite etc. in a way accessible to the newcomer?
Danilo In-der-Wildi it’s in a lot of his works with the works Fear And Trembling, and Either/Or being paramount. You can always buy a companion or an anthology, which I can almost guarantee will include the most “important” works on these topics.

I think Feurbach talks about the emergence of religion the question of where is it coming from, Kirtkegard on why (leap of faith) and how it is motivating you to be the best version of self and Marx on the results - it being the opium.
Im fascinated by how you used Kierkegaard’s Christian faith as a tool you could leverage against every Christian you and your audience knew. What the world needs is more philosophers doing their thought experiments creating personal religions. Kierkegaards sole purpose was to lead people into an encounter with Jesus Christ.
I loved the show as someone loves a book that though doesn't give him the answer he is seeking but still makes the question more clear. The someone who has lost himself in the Infinite, this leap of faith has to be based, at least partially, on self-awareness. But this is where the 'solution' broke my heart. The ideas of possibilities open before a person keep changing his awareness about his personality. I know the sketchy features of the personality I will attain to if I take a leap in a career as a civil officer. I also sense what i will become if this leap is towards going into the corporate... and so on. Philosophically speaking, the leap is also a decision but the ability to decide is precisely what is suspended in the first place in someone lost in the infinite. Thanks Kierkegard anyway!
