Great first episode! Your knits look lovely. Your EPP bag will be so adorable! ❤ In your situation, I wouldn't accumulate much stash, but I'd always want to have one new project ready to cast on when I finished the current one(s). It would be so painful not to have anything to knit!
Hi there! Wonderful start, and hopefully you decide to keep going! Not that it’s my channel or anything, of course, but I encourage to ignore the “supposed to do’s” 💖😄 I love seeing ones where people aren’t following the same ‘ole, same ‘ole format. But of course do whatever you enjoy! ❤❤❤
You did great. Can't wait to follow the journey. To answer your question. I stash manage by picking a storage space in the house that already exists(a drawer) and designated it as my yarn stash place and I am not allowed to outgrow it, so I'm mindful about getting new yarn but not banned from getting it without a project planned. As long as I have space I can buy more and if I want to buy more I must use something I have. It works for me so far.
Wonderful start to your podcasts! Love the knitting bag! It will be a great memory of your time in Japan. Be sure to create a label on your bag with your name and date completed. And your stash…well, I have too much yarn and I inherited my sisters yarn when she passed. I think having too much can be overwhelming and of course you never have what you need for a new project so you end up buying more! Looking forward to your next podcast!
yay love a new knitting podcast! I love your style. I am really intrigued by your Notion knitting tracker. I love Notion and I also have a knitting tracker but if you would be willing I would love a video showing how you use Notion to track your knitting
Enjoy yourself for your year in Japan. It would be lovely to see inside a few local yarn shops…if you need to increase your stash.🤭 It would also be great to see a few clips of the area in which you live. Thank you.
This was so fun! Welcome! I’m a fairly new knitting RU-vidr myself. I love your projects and the fact that you’re in Japan for the year. Good for you guys! I love it. Ok now I’m interested in the English paper sewing?
Thanks for the welcome! English Paper Piecing is the most relaxing way to sew! If you want to know more, definitely watch Kate at The Last Homely House here on RU-vid! That’s where I learned
Great job with the first podcast. Thats a great idea with the traveler. i didnt think of that. I like to try to find patterns based off where we travel for big trips and i didnt think of just doing something like the traveler. I say maybe like 30 skiens of yarn, that way you have like sweater qty or 2 then some other single skiens for stuff.
30 sounds about right! I like that you think in terms of quantities per project, and not just “stash” as some big amorphous idea. Now I feel better about buying some more yarn! 🧶
Great first podcast!❤ I would say for me. Buying 2 project quantities of yarn at a time is ideal. Do I have way more yes! But I think this amount in a small space would work. Sending ❤ from Orlando Florida
