The Russians used this battle cruiser..in the anti-pirate role... because they did not have any anti-pirate vessels now they have a half dozen.

That's how they keep the costs down so low with everything.

Hickboy pirates don't care about from which country the ship they attack is from! Pirates won't regret their choice that they make, cause if they fail their objective & die or being in taken into custody that won't matter to them cause they will probably do the same once released.

Being a pirate is not a life choice they make. they do it because they have no other options. Life is harsh in their countries, no job, no food etc.

There are literally hundreds of thousands of places you can go to get information on what the navy does mate. The navy just doesn't have its own state produced TV show.

@@locoman888 Believe it or not, it is easy to access (if you actually look instead of just going on your suggestions) and there is a LOT less wasted money than you think. You sound like the kind of person who has done zero looking into it yourself at all, put absolutely zero effort into understanding any of it and is just propagating myths because they confirm your views. But I bet that you'll be happy they "wasted" money on new technology should your safety depend on anything the military does. Then I'm sure you'll be bragging endlessly about how much better our equipment is than anyone elses. The US doesn't have a tv channel for propaganda like russia does because we don't bloody need one. We have decades of practical experience and aren't trying to breathe life into a tiny military being rebuilt. We aren't nearly as poor as the average russian who needs to feel good about the strength of their country to justify their suffering. You probably think the AK is better than the AR too

Maybe you can start with some small cottage. Outside of big cities, they are really cheap compared to EU realities prices. You can try live there few months and if it will not be ok, you always can sell cottage and go back. But you will definitely need at least basics of russian language.

They'll be hit/stopped way before they come into effective range of RPG. That's why it has a helicopter and assault boat + 76mm gun that can hit targets at 10km. + Optical systems, UAVs etc can provide reconnaissance and positive identification of targets tens of km away from ship...

Of course it would breach in, but RPG have effective range of 150-200 m and after such attack, Russians would probably arrest them, drag their ship in the middle of nowhere, destroyed it engine and let them there to die slowly, or canibalize themselves.

The LCS is a experimental class. They are advancements in the idea of a Corvette If war should break out in the south china sea or naval war should break out at all you will be very very glad the US Navy spent the time experimenting with new ideas and systems. But people like you can probably never understand things like 'logistical foresight'

@@BeKindToBirds i didn't say the LCSes was bad. They're pretty cool, but it still didn't accomplish what it was designed to do. And of course the USN will use that experience to improve ships in the future. What are you talking about?

@@TheNicestPig It absolutely accomplished what it was designed to do because what they were designed to do was test new hull shapes, engine types, weapons systems, etc. It was designed to provide the US with a ship that can accomplish all tasks of a Corvette and hundreds of other roles done by many other ship classes. I am talking about the fact that you seem to think they had a goal OTHER than testing out new ideas. Like so many others you seem to think we are leaving some gap in our navy now because our poor lcs class failed... Rather than realizing we are so far ahead we can test new ideas while others get to just copy us when they see we found what works best. This is why you have ships with the same engines and wildly different hull shapes. Two ships with the same hull shape and wildly different engines. Think of them as practice for the next generation of destroyers and small ships and you will be able to cut through the ignorant media garbage and understand why the Navy is all about them. People don't criticize nasa experimental aircraft or the air forces test bed aircraft or the army's test bed tanks where they are constantly trying new equipment and new ideas on but suddenly it gets to the size of an ocean going ship and people lose their minds. Trust and believe, every baby in the world sat up straight in their chair when we started building the littoral class. They represent what the future holds for the US Navy and prove we will have the fastest, most advanced, most efficient, and most capable fighting ships of the next generation. Or maybe you think that it's a waste of time to make ships that can be operated by a single man or that can hide from radar better than any ship or go into shallower waters better than any other ship their size or having the fastest and most powerful engines giving them unprecedented speed... I swear, video games, TV, and the news media has absolutely destroyed the American public's ability to understand how things work. But I bet ANYTHING the same people criticizing the LCS class as "a failure" think the Germans should have taken more time to iron out the kinks with their jet fighters and tiger tanks before trying to mass produce them in desperation during ww2.... Well, I guess you'll see what makes america the greatest superpower the world has ever known when the shermans are shipped to every part of the globe winning the war eh? See what the rest of the class does and see how they compare to other nations corvettes. You will see why the usn remains the most powerful navy in the history of the world

Any ship they take over will have radar. I would assume some Somali motherships have radar as would pirates in the straights of Malacca. You can buy a marine radar for 1000 Euro on ebay. Fix-wing drones with relatively long range aren't that hard to come by either.

3 corvettes are already on alert and 3 more will soon be launched. there will also be retrofitting of bulava missiles with containers
